Car mount keeps Droid screen on??

I was under the impression that when the Droid is placed in a car mount, the car mode will keep the screen on even though it is not being charged. I know it keeps it on during navigation, but doesn't it also keep it on at all times as long as it's in the car mount? Cause mine doesn't...

My solution for the moment was to go into settings, applications, development and keep screen on while being charged and just always charge the phone while in the mount, but would much rather have it stay on ragardless. I put my Droid in the mount, choose "View Map" and 30 seconds later......blank.

How does yours act?

Mine acts the same way, but I've told it to stay on when charging.. so I think we're in the same boat.

Mine did the same. I downloaded a widget called screenmodewidget which has 3 settings one will keep the screen on until you change the widget. Used it the last two days in the car dock and the screen stayed up my entire commute ~ 40 minutes.

I've been able to figure a solution to my problem. I have screenmodewidget as well but I don't like having to manually enter into screen lock mode every single time I plug it in.

So now I've downloaded an app called "KeepScreen" and I basically tell it to keep my screen on when "Car Dock" and "Maps" are turned on, which is pretty much only when I'm in the car. Now I don't have to worry about a thing, just put it in the car mount and drive.
