It's definitely top 3. Between iPhone 4, Epic 4G and Evo it's just a matter of preference. Maybe Droid X would be up there, but no front facing camera is kinda retro at this point.

It's by far the best one I've ever owned, not even close. I'm sure it would be number one without any question if the skype feature had not been taken away or if 4g was widely available. Those two things put it on a level playing field with the Iphone 4 when is doesn't or shouldn't be. Nonethless, I still am enjoying the heck out of mine going on three months next week.

Specs wise I would say yes, up to this date of course. But overall, no way. The hardware/manufacturing problems, combined with the shortages (3 months after launch I still know people who are on waiting lists) are a big downfall for the phone. No to mention the fact that only about 10 percent of users are actually getting 4g.

For me, yes it is. But I don't use iTunes, I don't play 3D games, I don't need a keyboard, and I can't see individual pixels on the screen. YMMV.

Right now the specs is already lagging behind smartphone such as Samsung Galaxy/Droid X.

I believe dual cores (up to 1.5ghz) is going to release near Christmas. So doubt it. Just be happy with your phone instead of having the latest and greatest.

The poster is referring to the underpowered GPU in the Evo and the lower benchmark scores of the Snapdragon powered phones versus the OMAP and Hummingbird chips.

By Christmas, there will probably be a >1 GHz processor phone with Gingerbread and 1GB of RAM and possibly a 1024 X 600 screen or even multiple ones. A 6 month reign in today's market is an eternity.

If I had to pick one product that is the best, I'll say the original iPhone, as much as I hate to admit it. That's the phone that got the ball rolling. They set the standard. Before that, smartphones were kinda meh.
