Dinc will not obtain IP....I just updated to 2.2 and it worked fine .....then i made changes to my router......turned all the security OFF.....

does the Dinc hold old info on a current connection? if so can i delete a connection and start fresh....more than just "forget"? Should I name my Routers SSID?

If your router is broadcasting its SSID, it should pop up in menu/settings/wireless & networks/ wi-fi settings. If the old one is still there, you could forget it (which is deleting the connection) and reselect it. The router tells the device what security it needs (none, WEP, WPA, etc.)

thanks Jolly,

I am not a novice to networking, but am new to droid.....I have 3 routers to work w/ at my home.....2 of which r up and running......1 as router in my house and a hard wired AP at the neighbor's house......

My phone just is not obtaining IP address from either 1.......i had connection thru most of sunday.......6SEP2010

I updated my phone to 2.2 on Fri and everything seemed to be working.

My neighbor had a pc tech work on her computer and he factory reset my AP in her house which in turn screwed me, cause it set both routers on the same IP 192.168.2.1...once i fugured this out I no longer had a connection problem w/ other computer, netbook and laptop. just having trouble w/ the Dinc.......

is anyone else having trouble w/ the 2.2 update and WiFi? and does a previous wifi connection properties hold old settings.....does "forget" actually delete a connection? or just remove from view.....

I maded changes to the router settings from security to open network......that is when i noticed a problem w/ the Dinc
