After all the anticipation and impatient hand wringing the 2.2 update has mostly been rolled out to everyone. As usual with all updates, some love it, some hate it and some say its just ok. What say all of you who have it?

Just OK...nothing special or extraordinary that warranted all the frenzied anticipation.
Like- How app manager in Settings is organized. Comments separate tab in Market. News feed widget...awesome! (careful not to empty cache. I did & lost all the useful built in RSS feeds to choose from)
Dislike- Charging battery takes much longer...almost twice as long now. Text msg writing...confusing at first.

I think its great. The only issue i have is that it won't clear the history in the browser or default to home page in the browser on a task kill. Other than that, perfect. I'm getting more battery life, and the optical mouse is a million times better. Video is much crisper as well. Love the way you can see what you are typing in web forms unlike 2.1 where it only opened a text box. I have been out of the country and havent been able to see how call quality is, but ill bet it is not worse. I don't understand why anyone wouldnt like the update.

My complaint is the HTC Mail (POP, POP3) as I don't use Google Mail - GMail. I use Outlook 2007 and as normal as I download it to my PC I delete it from the server as I don't have unlimited space or email. The 2.2 version syncs with the mail server and if it has been deleted from the server it removes it from the phone. The 2.1 version did not do this.

I have heard it was by design but the HTC Support said it is a know problem and they are working on it. It sounds like it is not just a Incredible problem but a 2.2 problem. I downloaded K-9 Mail from the Market and that keeps the email on my phone but I would rather use the stock HTC Mail program.

I wish I could get the 2.1 HTC Mail app back or they fix this one then I would really love 2.2.

Microsoft exachange instead of outlook would leave your email both places.

Honestly, it's fine, but I must not use enough features to notice a huge difference from 2.1. Internet does seems a bit faster. I do like the Manage Apps setting. My one continuing annoyance is that my screen orientation keeps going to horizontal while holding the phone vertical...and it annoys me quite a bit!

Full of bugs. Slow. everything freezes temporarily. flash is unusable now. availible memory has gone WAY down, battery life sucks, charging takes twice a long and still doesnt fully charge, just way too much to list

Sucks for you, you got a funked up phone. Try factory reset, has worked for most others.

I feel the same. I like it, don't love it because its just a small update.

I get the same orientation "problem." What's up with that.

Other than that my phone is quicker, flash works pretty good but not as good as I really would like, haven't used 720p but I'm happy its there in case I need it.

I give it a B-

Did you do a factory reset by any chance? Wondering if that would help the orientation problem. It's the only problem I really see that I have so far and didn't want to do it for that reason only and bring on other problems. If you have done one and it didn't solve the problem, I don't see the point. Otherwise, will probably do one soon.

I installed RUU so it wiped the phone clean. I didn't do a reset after that, maybe I should...It's not a huge problem for me though, so like you its not enough for me to factory reset. I doubt it'll do it though, because the RUU installation pretty much dd the same thing a reset would.

I thought the update was ok. I "forced" the update to my phone with the date trick. I have (fortunately) not had any of the issues some people seem to be having. I dont really care for the slower battery charge time, but I can get over it. I'm actually just annoyed that they did not really fix the signal bar display (if they did, my copy did not come with that b/c nothing has changed), and that 720p recording is lackluster and uninspiring (22fps??? come on guys, and what's with the seriously awful audio).

Anyway, like I said...it was just OK.

Forgive me if I'm stating the obvious, but did you try going through the System>Display>G-Sensor Calibration again?
Dunno about smile44, but I've calibrated the G-sensor six or eight times and it doesn't help this problem. Had to turn off automatic screen orientation in the end. Other than that and needing to reinstall a couple of apps (Swype, aCar), and the 3G occasionally not turning on properly, no problems. Edited to add: I did the OTA update and have not performed a hard reset.
