Its not right! i swear that google probably owns remote wav (kidding) but its not too far fetched. The remove features then charge you to make them work.

Why would they take away the ability to play Wav files from 2.2.

I dont get it.

So now if i want to listen to my voicemails from vonage I have to pay $3 bucks each for both Dinc phones i have.

Yes through Black Moon. But I cannot find rock player anymore on the market. You have a link to it?

thanks

Yeah, it seems to be on a break from the market. Can still get it from the website tho:

Rock Player - Redirect Intelligence Corp

Most Incredible users go with V7 although I have V6 1.0.31 and it does fine also. In free version, you have to press the "back" button on the pop-up window each time you open it. Really plays a lot of stuff tho.

Are you putting it on the card? That's the directory that shows up in Rock Player. Here's the thing though...I'm playing .wav files with no problem just using the phone itself. Playing them direct from .wav links on the net and also just downloaded one and played it.

Can you play .wavs on the net? Could it be just an issue with playing them as email attachments? Which email app is receiving the .wavs you are unable to play?

I am getting my vonage emails as a wav attachment and have been for a year since droid 1 now with Froyo it doesnt work. the gmail app itself used to open them fine and play with the media player. i DL blackmoon which allows you to save to SD card but the rockplayer is not seeing the files.

estrongs file explorer does but it cannot open them. remote wave works great but i am pissed i need to spend $6 to get something to work that already worked!

Yeah I see where you're coming from. Did a little research after you peaked my interest and there's all sorts of people across multiple phones having this problem for some time now. I guess we're just starting to see it due to hitting 2.2 which is the root of the situation.

So...I'm still very interested to know if you can play other random wav files aside from the Vonage voicemails. A lot of people were singling out the Vonage mail as what they could not access. Basically, I'm trying to figure out why I can play .wavs without issue and I'm on 2.2 also. I don't have a Vonage account however.

I recieve my work voicemails through Outlook e-mail. I tried to listen to one today and it said wav format not supported. I know it used to work before.

Why would this no longer be supported? That's messed up.

I agree it sucks!

I have fios also that never worked so I am only a little mad but vonage worked with 2.1 and doesnt with 2.2 that makes me pissed!!

Hey iowa thanks for trying to help me! Where can I go to listen to .wav file on the net. give me a link and i will try it.

Hey iowa thanks for trying to help me! Where can I go to listen to .wav file on the net. give me a link and i will try it.

Try these:
Wav Sounds Free Cartoon Wav Sounds

I can listen to these on my phone while browsing (the streaming player opened) and I also right clicked and "save file as" on the PC, then sent the .wav to my phone via email and it prompted me to select the app to use. I chose the native "music" app and it worked also. So in all cases, I'm a green light for .wav files.

Other .wav sites have had similar results for me also.

Any way to save them to the phone? I've used Rock Player to play .wav files on 2.2

you were 100% right. i re downloaded the rockplayer that showed up in the market today and i did a little more playing around and it works to play .wav files.

go into setting of rockplayer uncheck "show media files only" then select the .wav file you need to play and hit the normal mode button and your all set!
