I don't know if Verizon is having trouble or what but my dsl is down and I'm having to use the phone for forum browsing. My enV was slow but still twice to three times faster than the dx is right now. Is there some way to get the dx to just switch to 1x? I know this thing zooms when I'm getting good 3g but it's like it's trying to stay on 3g and it's bogging it down to unusable speed.

Hmm.. I would consider 1x unusable speed.

That DEFINITELY sounds like something is wrong. My DX is super fast on 3G. If you are in an area with good 3G coverage, try this:

1) Dial *228 on the Phone and select Option #2 to Update Roaming Capabilities, Then reboot.

if #1 fails:

2) Call Vzw (Not Motorola) and get a new replacement device.

All the best,
Eric

I must be typing this out wrong. Of course there is no comparison between the en v and the x. At my home, I get poor 3g inside. When I used the en v, I could connect well enough on the cruddy 3g to browse forums and even watch you tube videos. The X will sit and spend the entire time loading and switching between 1x and 3g and never actually load the page. So my theory is that it is trying to use the best signal possible and since my 3g seems to fluctuate, it just hangs switching back and forth from 1x to 3g instead of just picking one and doing the best it can.

I thought if there was a setting I could lock it into 1x at least to view forums.

ATT fixed my internet, I'm back on wifi so its no longer an issue but I'm still curious if its possible.

Btw, I had good luck with my en v, except the antenna and touch screen sucked.
