Thoughts on Bing and how it affects the experience?

What are the odds that this phone can be rooted to the point where all of these Verizon horsemuffins can be removed? I know in another post somewhere it was mentioned that the Google search existed in the system dump for the Fascinate. If it exists, what exactly would that mean? I'm assuming it's an integrated part of the OS programming. If it does exist, as mentioned, then I would hope just as easily as Verizon and Samsung disabled it to force Bing in there, you could hopefully root and re-enable it? The only thing that really deters me from grabbing this phone is how the forced Bing integration will affect the entire setup of this phone and how it is supposed to function with the Froyo updates such as the enhanced voice search app. Anyone have any educated ideas on this one? Love the hardware of this phone more than the Incredible and Droid X, but that's only half the battle.

Bing blows chunks, compared to Google. VZW's move here makes as much sense as if MS integrated Google into their OS and you could not remove it.

Though the hardware feature set is better on the Galaxy, the Bing issue and the 6gb less space makes me feel good about my Inc even more. Not to mention the reality that at best, this device will not see 2.2 of Flash until December.

People assuming that rooting and a quick 2.2 bake without Hummingbird and DAC drivers will be smooth sailing are kidding themselves too much.

This device will probably be stuck on 2.1 for a long time. Add about two months to whenever Europe gets it. That is known as the VZW factor ;)

it has already been rooted so you can remove all of that stuff. Once you root and there is a leaked froyo you can get it for your phone so you dont have to wait for carrier to release it.

I know there is a root available for the Galaxy S line, but has anyone actually been able to root a Fascinate and remove the baked in Bing? It seems that Google search and voice search isn't even available to download in the market, so it is somehow blocked by the ROM I'm assuming. Would that mean you'd have to sideload everything just to get it to work? And WILL that approach work? Guess we will have to wait until someone who has a Fascinate in their hands tries these methods out and report back the results.
