If you would like Flash (sooner than later) and are not a rooter, you may want to hold off for a few reasons. Perhaps get an Inc or another device instead that does have 2.2.

1. Please consider that with Samsung and VZW, you have a worse combination for updates than HTC and VZW

2. Rooting is the option, ATM.

That said, if Flash or 2.2 is not an issue and you do not mind Bing as your main intergrated search option (WHY?!?), the Fascinate is a nice device and audio fans will love the quality from the 3.5mm jack. Sounds as good as the N900- that is a compliment.

After watching a lot of shows from Fox, TBS, South Park, Megavideo, etc- I do not want another device unless it has Flash.

Still, if you are mainly an audio and video freak (sans Flash)- Fascinate will make you very happy and Flash should be available by the end of the year anyways.

Update:

Full (fool) disclosure: The Galaxy S sounds REALLY good for audio quality and video playback even blows my N900 away. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate I may be wrong and would rather get this device, root it and have the best of both worlds- Killer media and Flash :)

If this had the 16gb like the Tmo version........

Yep. Catch is amoled only goes up to 4" at the moment and Samsung will not have capacity until early next year (new plant was built).

Incredible 2:

1. Dual core Snap
2. LTE
3. 16gb built-in + microsd slot
4. 4" s-amoled display

That might sell a few units :)

BTW,

After reading more about the software, VZW really screwed this up. They are trying to force users through a Bing portal for money reasons and also trying to force customers into using Verizon navigator- $10 a month?

For Android fans, this device seems more suited for rooters. VZW frucked' it up.

Personally I'd rather see a super LCD on it as I HATE the pentile format that AMOLED and Super AMOLED use. Probably because I'm one of the few people that actually see the pixels really easily. I actually preferred the screen on my OG droid to the DINC's because of this.

I wonder if VZW understands some of their decisions to make money (Bing portal and Verizon Nav) may probably actually result in less money due to lack of sales?

Sure, techs and rooters will get arond the issues, but most will not and also will not like being duped. Even if they get it after a few months. Bad move VZW.

Good device - bad execution.

Don't worry. Samsung can barely make enough samoled screens for itself.

Not sure that's an accurate assessment. The average consumer far outnumbers the tech savvy ones, or whatever you want to call 'us'. The average consumer probably won't care or even notice Bing and VZW Nav being there.

Sad fact is the device was designed in a way that weakens the Android user experience and will con some folks into paying $10 a month for an app that is free and BETTER with Google Nav.

VZW is starting to smell a LOT like at&t. I hope this device fails- out of principle and to send VZW a message that consumers are smarter than they appreciate.

Not to mention frucking' up a good piece of hardware in the process. Root baby root.
