I have been searching for a leather belt case to fit my DX with Luxmo argyle case on. A lot of leather cases exist for DX but they all fit a naked phone. I tried everything in VZW store and ordered a few from eBay, no luck. Luxmo/Amzer or any other TPU argyle cases will add some bulk to the phone. Finally came across one in Best Buy. What is funny, they don't even have it listed on-line or anywhere else when you google the model number. BB caries EBUDY44-BLK which is a standard leather case, while this one is EBUDY55-BLK extra large case to accommodate EVO-like phones. The price is $24.99. Just like most of the other BB cases, I had to go through a few to find the one with a better fit and workmanship. This case has sides with leather and elastic so it expands, and it’s also deep enough to fit DX while being able to close the lid. It has magnet in the lid and in the body of the case, but since it’s located in the middle there is no interference with Car Dock/Multimedia sensor. The leather is a typical Eddie Bauer high quality. The case itself seems to be very durable and light. It does have a swivel 360deg clip, but does not have belt loops for those who want it permanently on the belt. Here are some pics that I just took:

:D

But in all seriousness, argyle case is a great protection IMHO. But you have to carry it in your pocket. If you don't want to go with SEIDO/BB or VZW or any other case/holster combos and prefer either Amzer/Luxmo or any other case, there is no other alternative to carry your DX on the belt. It

I use to be a holster/belt clip guy dating back to the old startac days, lol. However, the last time I used such a set up was a Body Glove on my LG Dare, and that thing would always find a way to come off from my belt or waist and drop on the floor. Got real frustrating.

So where's the video of you spinning your case around like these kids with their 22'' rims?:p

hey, belt holster is in!!! I never used it before in my life and always considered it to be on the same level as pocket protectors :D I don't consider myself being an old fart since I'm still in mid 30's, although having two little kids does make you feel that way lol!!! While in local BB looking for a case/holster where the wireless section has all 20yr old kids working in there, I saw them all carrying their Droids in similar holsters on a belt. My wife thinks I'm a geek wearing it, but I think its cool. Hey, maybe I'm in denial, like those Toyota swagger-wagon TV commercials for Sienna minivan :D But its either carrying it in your pocket, or clipping it somewhere on the belt. Just think those plastic holster belt clips are cheesy. So what are the other choices? Care to educate me? :p

Twister, don't worry about what everyone thinks. If you like it, then that's what matters. I use to carry my env touch on a belt clip (body glove) and it was great. I have the same Luxmo case as you and can't decide if I want to use a clip, but this is a good idea/choice. I think I might have to call you Mr. Accessory from now on! :)

Oh don't worry, my skin it thick and I have a sense of humor ;)

Regarding "rayban" or "oakley" - now, that is very old school. I prefer to keep my Maui Jims inside of my $50k GS350 holster :p And no, I don't have it modded with 22" spindle rims, pointless in swiss cheese pothole covered Jersey :D

I tried this case a day or so ago, and just wasn't all that thrilled with the quality of it for the price. It's $24.99, and for all that you would have thought the stitching would be better and not look so cheap and cheesy! I mean, it's supposed to be an Eddie Bauer, for pete's sake! For that reason alone I left it in the store. Had it looked like a $25 case, would have not had a problem with it - Lucille fit in it just fine even with the VZW silicon cover, and otherwise it was very nice. Liked the swivel clip and it seemed sturdy. Just could not get past the bad craftsmanship. Too bad for Eddie Bauer, this is definitely not a good representative of their product line.

u paid $50k for a GS350? must have a ton of options or you didn't shop around. i've never had a belt holster but they have always seemed too "professional" for me. i dunno, should an engineer have a cellphone on his belt or in his pocket??

Pocket protector, gentlemen... pocket protector for a cool nerdy look!!! :D

Oh, and I didn't say I "paid" $50k which is fully loaded MSRP. Got it below invoice for almost the whole holdback amount ;) Long story and I'm sure nobody cares about it unless we turn this into one of the clublexus threads. Beside, that was kind of a cocky reply from my side driven by a personal ego. But anyway...

Regarding poor quality of EB case, like I mentioned in my original post, I had to go through a few to find the one with an acceptable workmanship/quality. One of the cases looked like it was stitched by a blind person. I think this is very common for a lot of BB product where they sell a mix of quality and rejects. For those engineering nerds like me, it's an equivalent of going to Radio Shack to buy resistors/caps/diodes etc., where you get manufacturing rejects with 20% tolerance that is not acceptable for commercial circuits.
