What Blluetooth App Works On The Droid?

I can't get any of the bluetooth apps to fully work on the droid. I can turn bluetooth on and off with them, but the piece won't connect to my device. I still need to go into settings to "connect to audio" and this usually takes like 3 or 4 tries to connect.

So it pairs ok by activating bluetooth but if I still need to go into settings into a deeper level than just activating the bluetooth, then it doesn't make much sense to even have a widget app for it.


But what ones work for you guys maybe I am just using the wrong ones, thanks!

According to the local rep at my Verizon store, Verizon locked out BT connection with everything but headphones and BT voice systems for the car. He explained that there is no available port to connect with your PC or other Droid's because that would allow hackers to steal our info. What he didn't say was that Verizon considers BT connection to your own personal device tethering and they want to charge a monthly fee for this service. I recently had a Samsung Omnia for 6 months before Verizon unlocked the GPS because they wanted everyone to use VZ Navigator. Now that Google maps is on the system for free, the BT is the next thing to try and get more revenue from us. It won't take long for some young smart person to figure out a way to open this up. When this happens, we might just be able to synch directly with Outlook Calendar and Contacts. What a stupid business decision.

Does everyone just always go into the settings->wireless->bluetooth settings->connect paired device everytime they want to connect the bluetooth earpiece they have?


I just don't get the point of the widget then if you have to do all this to get it connected...

No, you should not. My earpiece is paired with the Droid, and all I do is turn the earpiece on and I'm good to go. On/off is a snap.

I have no problem connecting my bluetooth headset or u connect car bluetooth for calls but google nav will not speak over bluetooth in car. Although it will over the ear piece bluetooth. Any suggestions?

Does your car's BT support A2DP? If not, there's nothing you can do.

For example, my wife's 2008 Nissan Rogue only supports the headset profile so it can only be used for calls. No A2DP support.
