Help POP email syncing issues....

OK, I have a POP email address for work, and it seems like it will go days at a time without notifying me of new email, then all of the sudden send my 50 new emails.....do I have to open the htc mail program for it to sync? I want my emails to automatically be sent to my phone....does anyone know if i have messed up a setting or something, or am I expecting blackberry performance from a phone that wont do that....

POP email doesn't "sync" For that you need IMAP or Exchange. Does your work email really not support IMAP, or is your email client just set up with POP?

Basically, when you check your email using an email client set up to do POP, the message is removed from the server and stored on your PC locally, unless you have your client set to "Leave mail on server for X number of days". In the case where you have it downloaded to your PC, your phone can't see any new mail on the server since it is downloaded to your local PC.

IMAP just sync's your client with what is on the server, so if you later check your email with your phone or a web client, you will see the same emails from all clients.

I think it is a POP/SMTP account.....is there a way to check in MS outlook on my computer besides looking under "tools...account settings" there

Yeah, that is where you need to check what type of connection you are using. Also, somewhere in there you should also see the Leave mail on server settings if you can't go away from POP.
