After seeing many negative posts about the Vibrant and other Galaxy S phones, I just wanted to post a thread about a positive experience.

I bought my Vibrant on day one (7/15/2010). I have enjoyed my phone quite a bit and I haven't even rooted, changed the launcher or done the lag fix.

Let me list the things I enjoy about the Vibrant:

1. I love the freedom of Android. I like not having to sync to a program like iTunes when I need to add files to the phone. I like being able to download things like sound files right off the internet and immediately drop it into the ringtone folder and have it immediately be available as a ringtone.

2. I'm really enjoying the fantastic speed of the T-Mobile network with my Vibrant. I have to admit to smiling a bit when I see people on other networks post their speeds for the other Galaxy S phones. When I have 3G service, I often get excess of 3000+ down and 1000 + down. I have seen better than 4000 quite a bit. I even did a speed test while driving at highway speeds and gotten well over 2000 down and 1000 up! I can even enjoy HQ YT videos at highway speeds with no.issues. I'm constantly surprised at how fast the web is on the 3G. Some of the 3G speeds people are posting on the Epic forum are lower than my Edge speeds!

3. While I might be in the minority, GPS for my use has been effective. A have used it for multi hour trips through New York City and always got me to my destination without issues. It could lock on faster at times but it normally does not take more than 30 seconds. Could it be better? Sure, but they are working on that. I hope that Samsung will release a GPS fix soon so many users afflicted with GPS issues can use their GPS effectively without frustrations.

3. I enjoy the thiness and the light weightness of he phone. It slides effortlessly into my pocket and doesn't weigh my pants down. It make living with it that much better. I don't want a hunk of metal in my pocket. Doesn't feel cheap to me.

4. TouchWiz is okay. It hasn't been the nightmare that some postings made it sound like. Sure there are lags from time to time but nothing unbearable. It adds some nce features as well.

5. Screen is effective. While a high density display like iPhone4's would be nice, I have bad eye sight anyway so I lke to blow the fonts up big anyway.

6. Like the fact that side loading is so easy unlike ATT.

7. Battery life is good enough. I typically have over 50% left on the phone when I get home from work. That's good enough for me.

8. MicroUSB cables are cheap. I got my 3 ft cable for just over a dollar.

9. 3D games are fast. Every 3D games I tried ran smooth as butter. Just wish there were more games.

10. It's a fine multi-media player. Plays my videos without having to covert them. Plays music ncely as well. Even found a MOD file player! (XMP works very well.)

11. Love the huge built in memory. With a 32GB card, we can max out our Vibrant at 48 GB. I haven't seen an iPhone with more than 32 GB.

12. Even works great as a phone. I'm enjoying my unlimited text as well.

All in all, enjoy the heck out of my phone.

Glad to hear that!

When I first got the phone I went through a "honeymoon" phase. I was drooling over the display. When my friends saw it they were super jealous and could not stop talking about how great the screen was.

As time went on I became I was pissed that my GPS didn't work and Touchwiz would cause the phone to randomly lock up or stutter. I was also missing the keyboard from my Sidekick and MyTouch Slide. I've been using keyboard phones for my entire life, needless to say, it was a tough transition.

I've gotten over the GPS issue but I really do wish Samsung would hurry up and release the update. The girlfriend and I like to explore the city and visit cool attractions. My MyTouch Slide's GPS was flawless, it would connect INSTANTLY. No, not 30 seconds, but instantly. I missed that a lot but I'm over it now.

When the G2 was announced (before official specs) I was set on selling this phone and getting the G2. I was so sure of it that I almost wanted to stop using the Vibrant. However, one day I went ahead and over clocked the phone. Not sure what made me do it, but man, it brought joyness to my heart. Running this phone at 1.2Ghz is such a blessing. Everything is much snappier and smoother than at 1Ghz. Even my family who has Vibrants (stock, not overclocked) say my phone was faster than theirs for some reason. lol. Wonder why.

Basically, ever since I overclocked I realized it would be foolish to give this phone up. It's the best phone on the market right now. What really set me over the edge was when I started college. Walking across the campus I could see my screen with perfect clarity in broad daylight. No other phone can claim to do that. Any other display instantly becomes washed out and impossible to read. I've also downloaded a few games like Nova and Angry Bird. I'm 100% sure that games look and play better on Galaxy S phones then any other phone currently out.

Then the G2 specs were announced. I basically laughed. How could anyone give up a Vibrant for a G2? If you really need the keyboard you shouldn't have gotten the Vibrant in the first place.

Loving this phone. Can't wait for the GPS fix and 2.2 update!

I love my Vibrant too. It ****ing prints money!

Lmao melll. Same as burn-n-daylight, I came from a behold 2, this is a whole new world. I'm still on honeymoon with this thing, and love getting home from work to see what new roms are released to play with. Now that I finally figured out my download mode access, I fall for her every time I flash a new rom. She even has a name, Loretta.

Dont let the flame burn out. Ride that honey moon until the spark is gone, and then do it all over again!

Exactly, when Froyo gets here, Im gonna feel like I just got a new phone!

After that is Ginger Bread, or Honey Comb!

yes!

Dude, I haven't turned on or even tried to fix my home pc since it gave me cmos errors over a week ago. I flash back to stock at work in the morning when I'm going in between roms. My mouth waters at the prospects of more dev to play with in the near future. I'm still new to the android world, but I've been a techie for years, and I'm having blast with Loretta.

Funny thing happened to me today, I went to local corner store and they guy who owns the store saw my phone and jumped all over it. He took it outside to see how the S-A was in sun. He played with some app and launched a game. He told his wife that he wants that phone.

I love my phone for one reason that hardly no one says anything about All-share.
I stream videos from my wireless network all day from my phone while I am in the house and If I want I can wireless download them to my phone to take with me.
