Hello all,
Yesterday I broke apple's death-grip on my digital life by ditching my iSuck 3Gs, and upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate.

I like the phone. I like it a lot. That being said, here's where I need help.

I would like to be able to put files and music on it via WiFi. Someone told me today that I could do so via a program or app called Samba, or something like that. my questions is... where do I start? how do I set it up? please, help. I appreciate anybody who gives helpful input.

Thank you. Sorry, I'm not the greatest at posting in the right spot on forums.

Anyways I don't care how it's done as long as I can copy (not just stream) files to my phone from my computer. anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how? Thanks again.

No problem, you'll get used to it. Are you familiar with dropbox? Install on computer then get the app. Whatever you put in dropbox folder on computer you can then open and save on phone. (all free but with 2gig storage limit)
ps can get more free storage by referring others to get dropbox.

Launch EStrongs File Explorer.
At the top right of the screen it will say "Local". Tap that and select "LAN".
Tap the Menu key (The first of four at the bottom of phone)
Select "New"
Select "Scan"

After a few minutes, all the windows machines on your network will show up.
Browse to your shared music. Long press to copy. Switch back to local to paste.
