Goodbye BB Tour, hello Epic? Advice please :)

I'm considering giving up my blackberry Tour for the Epic. I'm just lurking to get a feel for what you guys are going through to see if it's for me. I mostly watch the battery life threads since my blackberry only lasts 10 or so hours on a single charge, which sucks when I'm usually on the move and can't charge up often (and I don't plan on carrying a spare battery in my pocket wherever I go). If the Epic can last as my blackberry (basically the commute to work, from work, and my entire work shift), I'll jump ship quickly (I am super tired of the spinning clock always popping up).

Is there a certain amount of time that would be good to wait before getting an Epic? When the blackberry tour came out, people had screen ripple issues and trackball issues. By the time I got my blackberry (2 months after launch), all of their issues were resolved. Basically if anyone has a feeling that a new revision will come out soon, I'll just wait for it.

I did the same thing and I haven't missed the Tour for a moment.

Call quality is better on my EPIC and it's simply so much more of an overall device / experience....it's fast and there is no more squinting at a tiny screen.

With a little tweaking, I am getting better battery life than I was getting on either the Tour or my 9650 Bold.

Got mine launch day and I haven't had any issues.

i also switched for the tour and the only thing i miss about it is the facebook app. other than that the epic is way better and your battery life will depend on usage.most people say they cant go long with having to charge but i am able to go a full day on a single charge with moderate use (150tx/45min callas and web surfing/facebook). im sure you will be happy with the phone once you get used to it.

I switched from th bold and wouldn't go back. I love this phone. I am going to guess that you will hate the battery life. But if you have a car charger I would suggest the spare battery with the spare battery charger. You can hook it to your car charger and always have a charged battery. It was the best accessory I bought for my epic.

Well worth it.

The Blackberry was very good at what it did - but the EPIC does SO MUCH More. My biggest issue has been battery management/life. But - it's worth the tradeoff - I LOVE the device.

Just a tip i got from another thread on here, i downloaded an app call switch pro which has a button to turn off the 3g signal (i only need it when I need to use it). This is my first test today however I unplugged my phone at 7 this morning and it's now 1:05pm and the battery is at 98%
