I saw this on another thread. Figured it would belong here well. Anyway, If you don't like the TouchWiz that Samsung has put on, you can follow this to disable it. This is tentative until someone can try it on a Fascinate for sure, but it should work. I have the system dump and the TouchWiz30Launcher.apk is a regular app under /system/app/. I may not be labelled as TWLauncher as on the video, but something similar to it. I will update as soon as I receive mine and more people doing it.

It's a separate UI altogether.

I realize that. But I'm a resource freak and I notice what I think is the TouchWiz process still running.

So if I'm actually running both TouchWiz and LauncherPro simultaneously, I'm going to get all OCD panicky because I'm wasting resources :p

Even though the experience in LP is much smoother, I feel weird just letting that 17-20MB used by TouchWiz go wasted. I tried killing the service/process for TouchWiz and just leaving LauncherPro going, but the TW process keeps restarting itself.

I think TW is still running.
One evidence is that when, using Launcher pro, I hold down home button, I still see an option for task manager, which I think is part of TW,

If your root does TWZ go away? Or is it always there no matter what you install or change? I've been reading on how to root and seem to get most of it but I haven't found anywhere that actually states what it does when you root to the factory installed software or ROM?
Am I just having a blond moment or what?

You do realize that this is a 4 month old thread??

Please see this thread instead.
