How do you transfer Iphone info to Droid

get a gmail account and upload all the info then sync with phone
Done that. Worked OK for contacts. My bookmarks are unusable, though. Lost access to my labels when viewed on the phone. All my bookmarks come up as individual entries which is a mess. To get to my "labels" I have to scroll down and choose "edit entries" where a list of my labels appears.

Frustrating, because on the PC igoogle page BM's have a pull down menu that allows me to pick the label I want to view. The label's contained BM's then appear nicely in the bm box.

How do I get the phone to have the dropdown menu like the one on the pc?

thanks, gwlaw99
Is it that easy? Sorry for not quite understanding? But "how do Send to gmail (sync it, email) it?, thanks

A couple of methods:

Via itunes:
Select ipod info, and choose "sync google contacts/configure". Enter your gmail address/password and your done...

Via the Mac:
Go to apple mail/entourage or wherever your contacts are located. Export your contacts as vcards. Go to gmail/contacts. Choose import in the upper left corner, choose file, navigate to your vcards and choose import.

Via PC, the import function supports CSV files, which I'm guessing is a PC address book export format.

thanks, gmermel
one thing that i am afraid of is the the iphone is damaged and no longer able to sync with computer. So i need to have Itunes sync with gmail directly since iphone is not in service. Is this possible?
That may be a problem in that it is the ipod's address book that is sync'd to gmail and not "itunes contacts" which doesn't exist---Itunes doesn't have a contact list natively.

Try the process I described to do it from the Mac/PC desktop since that is where the programs that hold contacts reside on your computer, and that is where ipod's contact list ultimately comes from.

Are you PC or Mac? I'll be better help if it's Mac (I never heard of a CSV file prior to migrating to gmail and finding it there).

i would need to know how itunes stored the information and get it from there?i am a PC
I am not an Apple tech-geek, but grasp their architecture a bit. itunes does NOT store contacts within the program. You won't be able to use itunes to export yorur contacts because they don't exist in itunes. Itunes acts as a "conduit" between the ipod and your contact-containing PC software (outlook, etc.).

Go to your PC's contact program, and export the contact list(either CSV if it's an option, or as vcards (vcf)). You then bypass itunes entirely and sync FROM the google mail site on the web (It imports the contact file you've just made):

google mail/contacts/import/choose file/---exported contact file on your desktop----/sync).
