I'm typically asking for the best speed settings such as kernals..oc widgets..nightlies..i'd like to hear the best scenarioes and apply them to my hero. jit enabled? overclocked to 768? jit disabled?

links are more than welcomed :)

Edit: did a lot of reading from the CyanogenMod-6 for Hero V6.0.0 - RC1 thread. I know what is best so far, but flashing collins battery tweak on top of the uncapped kernal is a benefit or a negative? some say you don't need to flash it but why not when it's making the battery last longer?

It differs from a nightly to a nightly

Right now I have the 913 with the uncapped kernel #13, unchecked compcache, checked JIT, unchecked surface dithering, VM Heap at 16M

I use overclock widget and have it set at 556-768

I like ADW, so that is still on there

Linpack score 5.49, Quadrant 430-460

Never have tried battery tweak, my battery life is great

gonna go with your settings. question: i just flashed froyo (yea finally)..do i need to do the battery tweak again? (charge 100%, 0%, reboot, charge 100%) and how come you have the oc widget if you have the uncapped kernal? i thought it isn't needed once you have that kernal in place.

don't like launcher pro?!

Charge 100%.....is just wiping the battery stats. I do this every once in a while. If you want collin's battery tweak Collin_ph Battery Tweak RC1 for Cyanogen / Darch Froyo roms (possibly others) - xda-developers

I use overclock widget to set my settings, use setcpu also

I have not tried launcher pro, I may at some point;) Maybe when the final comes out, I'll try it.

thx..but i thought the overclocked apps weren't needed if you have the uncapped kernal set? am i missing something here?? and you're using both oc and setcpu?!

I only use OC widget(sorry), Darch has boot up on 691 for cm6, Decadance's uncapped after flash, is 710. Use oc widget or setcpu to go higher

BTW, the newer nightlies stock kernel can be oc'ed if you don't want to flash the uncapped. But by flashing the uncapped kernel, you will see better battery life

No:thinking: Where did you find out how hot your phone is, what app?

you can go to your battery stats within spare parts. i personally use Battery Indicator. it tells you when you last charged your phone as well as the temperature. i had 15 hours going when i did the battery tweak on darkdroid's 2.7.

haven't tested on froyo yet

go to your settings within the Battery Indicator. you can turn it to F

works like a charm! really like that it tells you the battery percentage in the notification area as well as the last time you charged your phone! lets you know how much juice you actually have daily!

Might want to mess with different things for a day or 2. I have found that different kernels with different settings give me the best outcome with the phone. Like I said before, the settings I have right now, this is the best the phone has ever run:D

i was actually thinking of doing so!! but for now i'm gonna stick with your settings!

All right, here's what I got in the past 6 hours
26 C (78.8 F): just when its sleeping
29 C - 30 C (84 F - 86 F) when I'm charging
Playing with apps, browser, facebook... 35 min 37 C - 39 C (98.6 F - 102 F)

If I get something higher I'll let you know, using spare parts, battery temp

I was running the stock kernal with Colin's battery tweak and I was getting awesome battery life. I couldnt leave well enough alone and started flashing deca's uncapped kernals and battery life has suffered, big time. I want to go back to the stock kernal as that was apparently my sweet spot. In order to do that do I just flash the ROM over again and,if so, can I just flash it without wiping?

Correct. Just boot to recovery, wipe only cache and dalvik-cache, flash the ROM, then reboot.

You will have to flash the battery tweak again
