Help car mode ?

how do you put the desire into car mode ?
i cant see any menu for this . but when i pluged in the usb cable it came up in notfy area on its own ????

Connection between pin4 and pin5 in the cable put the Desire in car mode.

Try another cable
Or clean the connector on your Desire. Maybe dirt?

But how does the phone know when it's in a car? If the HTC cable has the correct connections, why doesn't it go into car mode when I'm charging it at home? or when I connect it to my laptop?

I checked the HTC accessories store and the two car docks say nothing about special connections; they appear to be nothing more than window mounts; so how do you activate this mythical Car Mode? Surely it should be a manual switch, not something the phone detects?

If anyone has managed to successfully make use of car mode - actually in their car - I'd be interested to hear how you did it!

Using the new HTC Car Kit CU S420 will put the Desire in car mode

i having thesame car mode problem, ive reset my phone 4 times already and given it in for repair yet nothing has changed.

plz advice hw u may have fixed this problem thank u
