Droid does search bar

I have seen other users post pics and inside their Google search bar it says "droid does"... does anyone know how I would go about customize my search bar like that... I am not rooted so I hope it is still possible

I too saw that, thought it was nice ikandy - good question. Couldn't tell if it was part of theme, launcher or something deeper like custom icons.

Root is required for themes, but you could just add the googlesearchbox.apk. If someone locates the theme I could get you the google search box probably as long as the person who made the theme is ok with it.

Yeah, as I search around I see themes with Android aren't a simple application or laucher. I'm coming from BB, running the leak - non-rooted so this option may not even be possible. I do how ever want to learn more about the dev side of Android. I grew up using DOS commands, but some of these I see around here (push, mount,) are different, this being a linux base I may need to refresh myself on those commands - buts thats another thread I want to start soon, asking for help and general knowledge about the subject.

The search box can be themed and will not require root. I've been off and on working on one recently but It doesn't sound like it will match what is being asked for here. So if anyone directs me to the theme I will see if I can get permission to use their search box and pull it out of their theme. So if someone will just give me the link I will see what I can do.

If you are looking for a little info on some of the commands I could probably give you a little help, as I use a linux distro as my main operating system but I wont steal this thread to do so.
