Root Who thinks they have the best rom?

UD8 all the way! I haven't tried LFY though. Probably because I think anyone who spells words with alternating capital letters isn't worth trusting my phone to. :)

Really? I can't really see the logic in that?lol But to each their own i guess. I have tried LFY and it is a great rom. Even with alternating capital letters:D

The logic is I think alternating capital letters are REALLY stupid, but that was really meant as a joke. I love UD8 so I have no desire to try anything else right now.

i have tried liquid 1.4 1.5. 1.6 and for "my" phone and setup ud8 is by far the better rom! it is as fast as liquid, gets better battery life has way more options and runs MUCH COOLER!!:) also when 1.5 started getting negative feedback and lackluster reviews liquid posted thanking someone who gave his rom positive feedback for his "honest review". to me that suggested that everyone with negative feedback in his opinion weren't being honest! bah!

I am not really qualified to make any kind of comparison but I have been running BB 0.4 for 3 weeks now and it is interesting to note how many 4 and 5 star reviews there are on BB 0.4 and NO 1 star or 2 star reviews.

It may be an older ROM but that tells you it is quite stable. If nothing else, if someone has a phone that doesn't seem to like most custom ROM's it would probably like BB 0.4 just as a guess.

I am probably going to try UD8 soon just because a number of people here I trust say such good things about it.

I need to expand my horizons clearly :)

Cheers

I've run everything except Sapphire (not sure why), but I spent the most time on Liquid's because they were my "first." At any rate, for reasons you can read about all over the forum if you look hard enough, I was very hesitant to try UD8, but finally caved in just to check it out. In my opinion (and on my phone), it's as fast as Liquid, but with Cyanogenmod customization. There are still a few FCs that you read about here and there, but by and large it's the best for my phone.

I AM tempted to try ShadowROM, as those guys definitely know what they're doing and they're basically streamlining CM code and fixing bugs. To that end, Shadow and UD8 are probably quite similar...especially for those who like the options but never forget.

I'm with muab. BB 0.4 seems to run the best on my phone. There are some minor issues, though not sure if it's the ROM or something else, but for the most part I'm really satisfied with BB.

I tried LFY and, while it ran fairly cool with a 1.1LV kernel, it wasn't as snappy as BB. BB is pretty plain as far as features go, but I don't really want a lot of features tbh, I just want my phone to be responsive.

I'm going to try UD8 again. The first time I tried I couldn't get a kernel combo I liked. The stock ROM runs fairly quick if I remember correctly but my quadrant scores were low so I was trying to bump them up with a kernel and had some issues. Maybe I'll give it another shot. My favorite by far though is BB 0.4.

I really like Liquid's ROMs but after a day or two my phone goes to crap. I like UD8 as well, but I had overheating issues. I've settled on Shadow and it's great. Runs real cool, and has one of the best themes I've ever seen. Funny how differently these phones can act, but not surprising I suppose.

The thing is we are pushing these devices to their limits (and sometimes beyond). Normally these components have operating ranges (temperature, clock speed, etc..) and while they operate in the nominal ranges they behave pretty much the same. That's the reason the mid-range is so... well, mid-range! :)

The point is that we are pushing these phones to the limits and since each component was created from different batch processes and at different times there is bound to be differences. Even IC's on the same wafer can have subtle differences that you can't tell when operated nominally.

It's only when you start stressing the phones do you start to see the limitations and barriers of these components. Since some components will fail sooner than others (or begin to operate out of acceptable ranges) you will see this spectrum of behavior between devices. But, again, it's only when operated at such extremes do you really see the differences.

There's a reason it's called the "bleeding edge". :D
