What is the advantage of Vanilla Android?

I'm hoping someone can help me out here with Vanilla Android. I hear over and over how Vanilla Android is better than Sense or Blur or whatever other interface is running. I'm wondering why that is. I confess that I like Sense. For me, it works. I'm willing to try something else if it works better though. What are the pros/cons of using vanilla Android vs Sense?

the big advantage of vanilla is it doesnt have all the bloatware the carriers load onto the phone. its android, and nothing else. take sprint for instance...you get sense, and then you get the nfl, nascar, tv, navigation, and 37 other things youll never use but you cant easily get rid of. at first i was in love with sense, but after using CM6 with LP Plus, I can say I dont miss sense the slightest. maybe that will change when the updated sense comes out?

Carriers can still add all their trash to stock Android if they want to, though. I guess it wouldn't be called stock then, but it'd still be vanilla.

I think the main reason is you're supposed to get updates faster with vanilla Android. It might be easier to make ROMs (bootloader issues not included....lol) for vanilla Android devices.

After that, its probably preference. After using ADW & Launcer Pro, I will never use vanilla Android launchers again.
