DX:Thinking about throwing in the towel

Isnt this fixed in the 2.2? maybe just wait a week or so until 2.2 comes out. I believe it was shown to be a software issue not a hardware issue... ?

I think that was for the camera app. Think the OP means a real dead pixel.

I can understand the frustration, even a single dead pixel can be very aggravating if its where you can see it.

But going through 4 phones seems like much. Is this a dead pixel you can actually see, or is it from one of those tests like bigbadwulff mentioned?

Just got off the phone with the all mighty VZ. The 4th will be here Monday. I know it might be a software issue, but who knows when the update is coming. The tech support lady that sent me the replacement said they are hearing it might not go OTA until the beginning of next month now.

I apologize in advance but I think it's foolish to send it back for 1 stuck pixel, when only in camera mode, when it's a known software issue that is going to fixed with the update.

Aye, have to agree with Airmaxx23. Good chance the next phone you get will do the exact same thing. At least till you get on 2.2. You're sending back presumably perfectly good phones for an issue that can be on every pre-2.2 DX, and is fixable.

I know its annoying to see, and not something you wan't to hear, but getting another one won't really do any good.

ok.... heres my thought process... if its a known SOFTWARE issue... your gonna have the same problem with the new phone is my bet. Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe youll get lucky... but its a software issue and your going to get a new phone with the same software you have now... furthermore, its equally well known that most of the VZW tech people have little to no clue as to what they are talking about. Hell there were some telling people before that the phone CAME WITH 2.2 already....
Point being, dont be too upset when your new phone has the same issue you have now...

"not hurting anyone" ??

The more costs Verizon incurs, the more our service costs all of us. While I believe in sending back truly defective merchandise, some things you just live with or you're sticking the knife in YOUR back not "the man".

Our society has this "Walmart mentality" where everything has to be 'perfect' or we send it back. Only it costs us more in the long run. Think about it. The more you cost a business in expenses, the more things cost you.

Well, I got a dead pixel again, this will be #4. I am thinking about switching phones.

This is a bug in .604 it is fixed in the 2.2 update. I can't believe VZW CS reps don't have a clue....well I guess I can. All they ever do is send out a new phones. Then they send you a phone with the same update and guess what, you have the same problem. Why? because its a software thing in their OS.

Use a different camera app if you must until you get the update there are several in the market.

A lot of people don't have the logic to see this. Your not hurting the company, your hurting consumers. They are not going to lose money, you'll just pay more next time, or the monthly rates will go up to make up for the loses
