Hi, I am new to the forum, and just received my X about two weeks ago. I love it. It is way better than my old BB Storm. So far I have only found one issue that I can't seem to resolve. It seems that from time to time my external speaker just stops working for media files. The ringer will still work as will any alerts, but if I try to play a YouTube file there is no sound. A reboot of the unit will fix this, but I am wondering if this is a know glitch or if I might have an app that is causing this. I tried searching for this topic but the only thing that comes up is a thousand threads complaining about the sound level.

Is this an issue that anyone has seen?

Thanks.

I just posted about this the other day.

http://androidforums.com/droid-x-su...6989-speaker-issue-after-vibrate-enabled.html

The problem I have is the the speaker will stop working after vibrate is enabled. Once I turn off vibrate the speaker won't work for media at all until I reboot the phone and then it's fine. Unfortunately no one responded to my other thread so I'm guessing it's not a very widespread issue and I don't know of any solution other than to restart the phone.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I missed your post when I did a search.

Come to think of it, every time this has happened to me it was after I switched the phone to vibrate mode and then switched back. It sounds like we have the same problem.

Hard to believe we are the only two.

I'm actually glad to hear you say that yours is related to putting the phone on vibrate since it's consistent. Glad to know I'm not the only one. At least it's a problem I can live with but it would be nice to know if there was a way to fix it.

Just out of curiosity, how do you put your phone in vibrate mode? I've been using the switch pro widget to turn it on and off. Wonder if it's related to the widget.

I am also using the Switch Pro widget. Could it be we have found our problem? When I get a few minutes I am going to uninstall the widget and see if that fixes the problem.

Fixed! I uninstalled the widget and downloaded it again. After setting up the widget I could go back and forth from vibrate to normal and all the media sounds were still working. Think we finally figured it out. Give it a shot and let me know if that worked for you as well..
