So i have tried out some of the roms and here is what i think:

Skyraider: Rom manager would not installtitanium backup kept force closing.

Cyanogen: email kept force closing and i guess i am not down with the whole vanilla and not sense.... I guess i prefer sense.

Unsenseless: Market problems and app issues

Anyone else having these problems?

Skyraider: Try installing it through recovery instead of ROM Manager. I never use ROM manager for anything but downloading because it doesn't seem to ever do a FULL wipe.

Cyanogen: There are ton of posts in the CM6 thread on XDA explaining how to fix the e-mail FC issue. Just search in the thread. As far as vanilla vs. Sense, it's a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer the configurability of vanilla, some people prefer the user friendliness of Sense.

Unsenseless: Never tried it

I'd recommend you give SkyRaider another go. You should also try one of Adrynalyne's ROMs. He does awesome work. FrankenROM is the shiznit. Plus it uses the Evo framework, which allows you to use Evo themes, if that's something you're interested in.

Since I've not run a vanilla ROM yet, I cannot really testify from any personal experience there. I have run FrankenROM, Skyraider, and Virtuous. The only real problems I have had related to app installs and since I have upgraded to Virtuous 2.7 that seems to have corrected itself. I have to say that, in general, I've not had any more problems with Android while rooted and using flashed ROMs than I did with straight unrooted Android.

Good call on Virtuous. Not sure why that one slipped my mind.

SkyRaider 3 RC3 Vanilla. I haven't tried many others as this series hasn't let me down. Heck, even Hulu works (mostly). The dev is awesome and attentive to any questions we have.

As far as rooting or not rooting, I love the freedom we have. Heck, I'm currently running Droid x this, Droid 2 that, and Galaxy these... can't do that stock. Oh, and I'm still running Incredible this and this... for those of you thinking I should have bought a different phone...

So since i am using stock, i tried to install the smooth sense mod on it, and guess what happened? Infinite reboot.

Question is, how do i install some of these mods?

you may need deodexed stock. its on xda

also, instead of pulling battery, sometimes you can hook up to ur comp and do a cmd outa tools androidSDK and type adb reboot recovery, or adb reboot, saves u a battery pull. has helped me numerous times.

ACD158 already responded very well to this but I just wanted to "chime in" and say, yes, you will need a deodexed ROM for these mods. Also be aware that some mods are created for Sense ROMs, others for Vanilla and/or Senseless ROMs. You shouldn't have many bootloop issues if you keep these things in mind.
