I could have killed her when I got the phone call from her. She was at her dentist appointment and got out of the car and ran in cause it was raining and it fell out of her pocket. So I am sitting at work and get a text message from some woman that lives in the same town as us asking who's phone it was and that her little boy found it in the parking lot in pieces. I text back and forth with her for a bit and then finally tell her that I will contact her after I get out of work to come pick up the phone and she says ok.

Couple hrs go by and I am out of work and try texting again, and again, and again, and again, with no answer. Wouldn't even answer the phone calls. WTF?

I was pissed. I was mad at myself as well for not getting her address in the first place but also mad at her for not responding after numerous calls and text messages. What kind of person finds a phone and texts the owner and then ignores them? I was wondering if the phone had finally died from the fall and water it fell in? Not sure.

Anyway, I called Asurion, spoke with someone and filed a claim and just received the phone almost 12 hrs later. NIB with everything in it as well as a new car charger and earpiece with the speaker attached for calling. Never expected that.

Sorry for the rant, was just surprised how quick of a turn around it was from the time of the call and I told my wife if she loses this one that's it! She can go back to her old envy, lol....

I have an old contract, pay the old monthly, and have a $50 deductible.

i pay 85 for any smartphone and 50 for a reg phone, and trust me my wife is bad about leaving her phone somewhere, for instance, in CVS she bought cigarettes and i was behind her, she set her phone on the counter paid, got her cigarettes, and left, im standing there looking at her phone, what do i do? pocket it, and cut it off, THE VERY NEXT DAY!! she wants to txt someone and cant find her phone, i then give it back to her and say next time you leave your phone somewhere im going to sell it and you can buy one. of course that will never work, she is a woman, and i am married to her

You could also install Lookout (free in the market) on your (her) X and then you can track your lost or stolen phone. You can even have it emit a loud alert sound, even if the volume is turned down...Pretty sweet. I wouldn't have a phone without it.

What are the experiences with this lookout software?

I notice the TEC software offers GPS intervals, but I wonder what it does to the battery.

Is there any software out there that allows you to remotely turn on GPS so u don't have to leave it on all the time or turn it on in intervals?
