Hello all,

I am looking for a GPS on/off and WiFi on/off widget, either separately or together. I found quite a few WiFi widgets that work well but the three GPS widgets I tried, either don't work or take me to the location screen.

These are the only two widgets I need of the 4 that are in the "Quick Setting" .

Any suggestions?

I have an Xperia X10a.

Thanks much :)

I came across this, but for some reason I can't see the screenshots at the moment:

Extended Controls - Android app on AppBrain

Is something like this what you had in mind? Mind you, I've not used this app/widget.

Just remembered another one I have used in the past:

Ah, okay. I use Quick Settings - Android app on AppBrain myself. No widget, it does let you access the GPS with one click once open, that is, it doesn't go to Settings/Location and Security/Use GPS satellites.
Thanks again. :)

Here is my other problem, AT&T blocks side loading apps and I cannot get the SWM to acknowledge my device, so I can not load anything that is not available in the market. :(

I also use quick settings' GPS toggle. It's pretty easy to access and you do have the option to go to the detailed location setting page. the only problem is, when I turn off the GPS it often turns off the location based on WiFi and aGPS as well. In most cases I want to keep those two enabled and only turn off the GPS.

You don't see Quick Settings in the Market?!
Duh!!!, I was thinking the Quick Setting widget bar that came pre-installed on my X10a.

Yes, I do see the Quick Setting in the Market, and downloaded it. True it is not a widget but I like the extra bonus of seeing the battery and memory percentages at the same time.

Thanks very much, if you have not guessed it alread I am an Android newbie, one month today, coming from BB9700 and Treos prior to that.:)

Mine has not done that yet.

Oh dear...I have so many apps installed I can't even keep track of them all. Your list looks pretty good actually. I have a lot of map stuff (all the more reason to hope for the GPS fix!) and I like trying out different utilities just to see what they can do.

No social networking stuff for me, not that I'm knocking it. Just ain't my cup o' tea. My favorite game is Unblock Me FREE - Android app on AppBrain

There are times when I miss the 9700...when it comes to email and messaging, nothing beats a BB. Overall though I'm happy with the Vibrant.
