Help App questions before buying an Xperia Mini

I'm planning on buying an Xperia X10 mini or mini pro but before that I have to know if following apps work on it (because of the small screen size)

- Facebook
- Opera Mini
- vkontakte
- Fring
- Nimbuzz
- seesmic
- sobees
- Ringdroid
- CoPilot Live (I know that GPS doesn't make much sense on a small screen)
- Contact2Sim
- MortPlayer Music
- OpenSudoku

Thank you very much :)

Hi There...

I would say go for it...

All of those apps you mentioned will work...
I have copilot live 8 and it is the best GPS app on anything!
Especially the X10 mini !
Fits the screen perfect.... there are not that many apps not compatible becuase of the screen size.

Go buy the phone, you will never regret it!

Does anyone know if the Yahoo Mail app will work on the X10 mini? It's for wife and she's not ready yet to jump ship and get Gmail, so in the meantime the only way for her to get her Yahoo mail on the X10 mini would be through the dedicated app. That will decide whether or not she takes the X10 mini or another Droid phone.

Cheers!

I'm using copilot aswell, but I can't type inn the address on the where to go page.... it only allows for numbers to be entered..... don't know why :(

I had this issue as well, the default keypad will not work (I downloaded thickbuttons & this works) I prefer the default though for everything else so I just switch to thickbuttons to type in a destination then revert back afterwards.

Why is signing up to Google an issue? You don't ever have to use that account for anything other than what you download from the android market, so just make up an address for that purpose alone. You don't have to put any credit card details in unless you want to purchase apps but as there are so many free ones I can't see it as a problem.

Thanks for the tip about other keyboard to use with copilot.

Haha, regarding not wanting to sign up to google....
Guess what? To use the iPhone from Apple you need an iTunes account.
And I'm sure you'll need to sign in with Microsoft too when their new winmo's on the market.
So what's the deal?

I get it, they know what you download and install.... yes, but say you need to put another firmware on your phone.... then they know that you've baught the apps before and you're free to re-download them and install them for free this time.
How would that be possible without any form of account?

There's one downside - if you use gmail, the phone seems to sync to that too and you've got no option to say no thanks :(

Sorry I don't have that option.
I've got:
- background data
- auto sync
Those two I can enable/disable as I want to.

There's also gmail, calendar and contacts, but there's no way to disable them, the icon is just two arrows in a circle, like a refresh icon (ment to be sync "now" I guess).
But they do nothing.
So for my firmware, this function is set to be always on as long as background data is ticked.
