Help Android System killing phone after charge

Hi,

Is there any way to monitor what processes are using the battery specifically??? I am aware of the battery usage in the phone settings and the *#*#4636#*#* code for the partial wake log but i need something a little more indepth

I recently flash a clockwork mod to my rooted modaco R8 rom that scaled the processor down when the screen turned off and then back up when its on thus increasing battery life. Works great, but...

When i plug my phone in to charge it after the two+ days of increased battery performance over night and take it off in the morning, the Android Process sky rockets...takes up the top spot on my battery usage list (usually third) above cell standby etc and the only way to relegate it back down is to turn the phone off and back on again.

Obviously i dont want to have to do that every time i charge my phone up but at the same tim ei dont want to have to remove the governor scripts that have vastly improved the battery life of my desire.

Can anyone either provide a solution OR advise on an indepth monitor that will tell me more than just "Android System"

I have asked in the original XDA thread and the Modaco thread where it was reposted as a clockwork MOD but had no joy....please help as this is an excellent mod that i dont want to be without....

TIA

Matt

OK,

System Panel is a good app (Worth the money). It will tell you how much CPU usage any app is using and you can compare that with a battery drain app.

Are you actually losing battery more now? What percentage of used battery is attributed to Android System. What percentage of battery is actually used at this point?

danfrance,

Basically, when i remove the charger from my desire after the mod i loose the first block of charge very soon after as though the phone is not allowed to sleep as the Android System is taking say 70% battery usage (numbers not exact) after a reboot said process moves back to thirs on the usage list and my battery life has doubled.

Took it off charge at 7 yesterday morning and still got 50% batter left now....normally it would be sucking fumes by about 10ish - something i came to accept with smart phone - touch HD was the same.

remove the mod to see if it goes back to normal. If so maybe invest in setCPU instead. Its a good app and you can set battery profiles too.

started to remove apps that i had installed AFTER applying the mod and i *may* have cracked it - i put aLogCat on to check that the governor settings had applied correctly, after removing this software it appears to have solved my problem.

I will give it another couple of days and confirm -

Thanks for your help.
