Samsung Fascinate Lounge

So almost every thread in here has a lounge, where people can just come in to chill, without staying on topic ya know, just random musings among friends... I figured maybe if we posted enough this will be stickied or something...Anyway, welcome to everyone that has the phone, and if you have a question that just doesn't "fit" anywhere else or a comment, just post em here!

Is anyone hungry for froyo yet?

Eh, dunno, more of a pie person myself. Especially strawberry, mmm..

Far as the OS goes, nearly the same answer. This being my first Android phone - or smartphone for that matter - there's still so much to learn about it. Only this weekend have I started playing with Tasker and going through learning Android's version of java. I could do with the update for the GPS issue though; then again, I just use it to mess around, don't exactly drive to unknown places often.

I hope the androidforums app comes out soon. It will be nice to access the forums like emergency were able to do on the app thingy. I forget the name...

Tapatalk. The removal of that caused a bit of a frenzy.. for a while.

We'll get a native replacement in the (near?) future; it's being developed.

It's funny, but I posted a poll in the Lounge a while back asking users here if they've ever used Tapatalk. I can't give the exact numbers off the top of my head, but out of the quarter million members here there were less than two dozen responding that they had used it at some point.

Incidentally, I think the idea of a "Lounge" for each device forum is a good one. As an experiment, I'll make it a sticky.. let's see how that goes. ;)

My pleasure, saps.

In the interest if the newly implemented sticky standards, though, I need to un-sticky this thread and provide a link to it in the new sticky Fascinate Guide thread. ;)

This new Fascinate Lounge will stay alive as long as it's used, and that link will help with that, too.
Yeah saw that new sticky too. Im sure there will be enough interest to keep this baby afloat

Yeah, super amoled seems to me to be the future of screens. I like my DX though, fine. :)

When I was in the Verizon store last week, mulling over the X and the Fascinate, I went in to the X's menu and configured the brightness up to maximum to see if it would look as nice as the Fascinate's display (which was set at about 70%).

It did; it looked great and made my decision even more difficult. What finally won me over was the fact that the Fascinate did not need that tweak to make it look extraordinary, and the resulting battery life might be better, I was thinking.

Plus, the X is uuuuuuuuuuggggggllllllllllyyyyyyyy as compared to the Fascinate.

No tomatoes here. On SF launch day I checked them both out extensively, it was a rather easy choice for me

To me it was like going from a professional, beautifully designed, device to a toy. It honestly reminded me of when I came off my Samsung Instinct and was in the store handling the Eris and the Droid.

The Droid seemed like something made by Mattel. "Easy choice" is the right way to put it, both times.

But that's just a matter of personal choice, I know. So, Droid and X lovers, chuck cinnamon rolls at me, not tomatoes, please. :D

Hey guys

As I'm sure most of you have noticed, there seems to be a bit of tension between some of the different forums. This isn't what AF wants and we hope that everyone can get along together! Subsequently, the decision has been made to close or move all of the "extra" lounge/water cooler threads and put them all in the Lounge. This will encourage all users to interact with each other just a little bit more, help calm the nerves when someone "new" shows up in the wrong forum and ultimately lead to a more helpful and friendly site for all of us!

Feel free to read and post throughout all of AF (yes, this includes the phones that you don't own) but please keep in mind that, as always, the Forum Rules will still apply regardless of where you post!

Now quit reading this and go make some new friends :D
