This is coming from the CyanogenMod team. ETA on this ROM, not sure yet. I bet it'll be soon though. I've been following them on Twitter....it's definitely going to be something the Galaxy S phones will love. I know because I've had them on my Droid. I'm stoked for this one.... I'm just spreading the news in case anyone is wondering what's up....

It says Samsung Vibrant, nothing about Captivate.

Yeah that's what I said. But I've heard that it'll be compatible with the Captivate. I know certain files will have to be ported in order to completely work on the Captivate. But for the most part it'll work. If people are running the lagfix that's on the Vibrant on the Captivate it'll definitely work. Also Cyanogenmod is removing TouchWiz, which makes the transition even more seamless, since the amount of framework files that seperate the Vibrant from the Captivate isn't there.

I'm installing Ubuntu as we speak, I'll probably help out with that development process. Cyanogenmod is open-source, they're looking for developers from all phones to help expand on the team. So I'll definitely help in which ever ways I can to help create something exclusive for the Captivate instead of having to modify a few files from the Vibrants build...
