Root Using Netarchy kernel on Fresh 3.2... Insane battery drain...

I just installed the netarchy kekrnel 4.1.9.1 w/HAVS and immediately I started to lose about 4% battery in about 15 minutes or less. Mostly idle too. Used netarchy-toastmod-4.1.9.1-havs-fresh-compatible-signed

The performance is wonderful with the fps unlock, but still the loss is insane.

I cleared my cache and dalvak cache prior to flashing the kernel.

I am running the Fresh 3.2 rom.

Is your facebook runing background? I am 15 hrs unplugged with fresh 3.2 and netarchy 4.1.8 and still have 40% left and this is with heavy use, have not tried w/HAVS yet tho

Today I am using the CFS scheduler 4.1.9.1 -- 10% drain in idle mode. Though I think the 4g was on, it might have been causing extra drain. STILL I refuse to believe that this is normal.

I am going to try the htc voodoo of "battery reconditioning" (charging, turning off, charging, using 2 min, turning off, charging). Is there something to this? Should I wipe my battery information from my recovery? What can be causing these drastic problems? Should I just go to the 4.1.8 kernel (is that what everyone has been using)?

I have the kernel in my signature and I had a full charge at 11:07pm last night and at 8:07am I was at 45% battery life. I rebooted at 11:07pm. The battery use shows 50% cell standby and 50% phone idle. The phone was sitting on a table all night with 4G on and I just now took it out of standby so the screen has not even been on the last 9 hours.
Battery also shows up time 9hours and awake time 1hour 42mins. Looks like I have a good battery drain going on. I do have FB for Android (and I just turned down the updaate from 1 hour to 4 hour) so maybe that is doing it but I have auto-sync turned off so I thought that would disable FB updates.
The only accounts set to auto sync are Google (gmail) and Weather. Weather updates every 3 hours. And now I am down to 41% since I started this post.

I removed my profiles on the HAVS kernel and it's better...I gotta say.

How?

Can anyone describe exactly the procedure you do when flashing a new kernel.

I have the Amon Ra Recovery installed.

Currently my method:

Wipe > Wipe Cache / Wipe Dalvik Cache
Flash zip from sd card > Install .zip containing the kernel
Reboot

NOTE: I think there is something to the hocus pocus of the battery retraining. I just had my phone on 94%. Turned power off, started charging, its "green" so the phone thinks its charged immediately. So I have a feeling that my phone incorrectly thinks that maybe 50% battery is 100%.

Is there any harm in wiping the battery stats? What is the implication of that.

Because you are not supposed to use SetCPU profiles with HAVS. They interfere with each other and HAVS will not work properly. You are using the correct method to flash kernels.

Not using setCPU at all. Its not even installed.

Putty was talking about SetCPU when he said that he removed the profiles. Anyway, the 4G radio will cause massive battery drain especially when searching for a signal.

You can also download SetCPU and change the governor to conservative. This will help a bit with battery drain.

Not using the 4g at all. It was on by accident. In the morning I managed to actually drain 10% while 4g was on, 10% more while 4g was off in about 1.5 hrs. That is a bit insane, even with 4g on it seems insane to have like 4 hrs battery life total. Half of which was on standby.

Another indication of the battery measurement or dead battery problems:

Discharge is 8%. Takes 15 minutes. Recharge is about 1 minute. Seems awfullest fast both ways. I assumed 8% would take maybe 5 minutes? And this is happening repeatedly. And this is with 4g off.

Well the EVO does recharge very quickly... maybe not that quickly. What is your uptime vs. awake time? What does your battery usage look like in spare parts?

I tried flashing the Burnt Droid 1.1... 30 minutes up time in idle... 10% battery drain.

I am trying the stock kernel now.

Android System: 41%
Cell standby: 27%
Phone idle: 22%
Display: 10%

Also this is only 6m worth of use. Let me try another hr? Ill see if I can get sprint to replace my battery today :) Theres a store nearby and im still within 2 weeks of having it.

I'm new to EVO (well, since Sep 2nd) and don't really know what a stock EVO battery consumption is like. I sat down and rooted my phone and put Fresh 3.2 on it and am running netarchy's toastmod 4.1.8. I use SetCPU with profiles. Today, for instance, I turned on my phone right at around 8 hours ago with a full charge and haven't really used it for much of anything today at work. I am sitting at 56% (37% cell standby, 33% phone idle, 17% voice calls, Android system 7%, dialer 4%, and display at 2%). There has got to be something I can do so the battery isn't used that much with nothing going on...jeebus!

Soup that's about the type of numbers I've seen regardless of what I do. I've tried various settings and with a non-rooted EVO and EVO running Fresh and netarchy I get about 7% burn an hour while idle. I haven't given up but I'm not really sure there is a lot more I can do.

I get great battery life with fresh 3.2 and netarchy 4.1.8 cfa and now am going to try etarchy kekrnel 4.1.9.1 cfs w/HAVS and see if i can tell any difference. I am currently underclocked and get between 15-25 hrs per charge depending on use. I am going to flash, wipe battery stats re calibrate battery and turn off my set cpu profiles and will report after i see whats up.
