LauncherPro keeps killing my widgets (new version).

All of those with Launcher Pro Plus, check out the update.

I bought the Pure Messenger widget strictly to have an integrated Facebook/Twitter feed. I am strictly an idle browser of both feeds - that is, I don't take them very seriously and just scroll through them occasionally. Consequently, I have no need for advanced tools, just an updating feed that I can peruse once in a while.

Now LPP has a "friends" widget that is not only a free update to the app, but is faster and smoother than the Pure Messenger widget.

Also, LPP now has customizable rows/columns so you can set as many rows/columns as you want on the homescreens. This is super convenient because I always thought there should have been 5 columns on the homescreens.

Hmmm. Installation unsuccessful "Installation error, Package file was not signed correctly." ???

Uninstall the current version and install the update from the website. You probably are like me and are using a themed version of LP. Themed versions can't use the market updates...sucks, I know. Especially since the theme I was using is not being updated to the new version of LP. I don't recall which one you used, but Dtatch has the black BG with red and green out only. I liked the stock BG with the red, but beggars can't be choosers. PM me if you need it.

What is this themed version you speak of?

On another note, (by the way I've had this problem prior to the update). I noticed when I delete text messages, the text messaging widget does not automatically update. As in it still shows the text message that I've deleted on the screen itself.

Also, if I try to resize the widget the whole widget just turns yellow and freezes the phone. Then I have to restart LPP in order to just move it or remove it.

Anyone else have this problem? And a fix for it?

There are a few people out there that are theming LP, I believe via modifying the .apk file. The only way to keep themes with each new version is to re-theme them each time.

What method are you deleting text messages? Wen I delete them directly from the widget or via Chomp they are instantly gone from the widget timeline.

Are you certain the phone is freezing? To me it sounds like the widget is waiting to be resized. The method to resize is long press widget -> widget turns yellow and can be resized via the anchor on the bottom right of the page -> when you've completed resizing press the back button (hard key on the DX)

Thanks for the information. Where can I see pictures of themed LPP apk's?

As for deleting text messages, I'm just deleting them from the text messaging part of the X. I just delete the entire thread, but my LPP text messaging widget still shows a text message on the screen that's already been deleted.

Yeah the phone is freezing. I figured that it had something to do with the resizing, but it locks up the whole phone. I will try to play around a bit more with the resizing feature. I've honestly never tried that before.

Thanks!

Thanks very much!

Is the pic I quoted here a themed LPP as well?

Oddly enough, it seem that when I delete entire conversations the widget doesn't update but when I delete individual texts it does, and that's via Chomp or the stock text messaging app.

When the widget turns yellow to be resized it may seem like the phone is freezing because I don't think you can do anything until you pres the back button hard key. I hope this is the case for you at least...
