OK I am sure there will be a ton of new post's once the OTA 2.2 actually releases so I want to get this out there now.

If I download the OTA 2.2 and decide to root but something goes wrong I know I can flash the SBF to 2.1 but how would I get the OTA 2.2 back?

Will the phone prompt me that an update is available when it is stock 2.1?

thats a good question. id like to know too.

With the original droid there is always a update available. If you had an original droid on 2.0 and checked for updates today it would update you to the most recent 2.2.

Not sure if it will be the same with the DX but I suspect it will. If not I am willing to bet we will be able to get a copy of the update(s) so there will always be an update path.

i really hate to be the one to tell yall this but considering i am sitting with a dx paper weight ill let ya know. if you upgrade via ota update to 2.2 you can not use the sbf 2.1 to get back it will brick your phone i can guarantee it. if it doesnt someone for sure needs to tell me how they made it work. i am not new to sbf or flashing roms but as far as i can see there is no way to unbrick it as of right this second. IF YOU GO TO 2.2 THEN DO NOT SBF!!!!
