Dropbox update

I've been notified that there's a new version of Dropbox for Android (version 1.0 I think), but every time I try to download from the Market it the "Download Unsuccessful" error comes up. Have any other Dropboxers managed to update successfully yet? I have tried to get it direct from Dropbox but their download link just diverts you back to the Market page and the same problem.

Running FroYo on a Desire btw.

Cheers,

Steve.

This has happened to me as well. I had an update available for Twitter and Dropbox. Twitter downloaded and installed with no problem. When attempting to download the Dropbox update I got the "download unsuccessful" message that others have been reporting.

Thankfully it's the only app it has happened to me with.

I am also running FroYo on a Desire.

Phone: HTC Desire running Android 2.2 Froyo

I've updated a load of apps today but only Dropbox gives me the Download Unsuccessful message. I've also tried installing a new app since getting the message and this worked fine. Is the Dropbox app not loaded properly into the market? Is there any way to find out why it's not working?

To be very clear, the behaviour I see is:
1. I select Downloads on Android Market
2. I select Dropbox and click Install (it first said Update, but once one fails it changes back to Install which seems to be normal behaviour for the Android Market app) from where I accept the app permissions.
3. The Market page changes to show the Downloading tool bar.
4. The little downloading down arrow appears in the top icon bar.
5. After 1-2 seconds the downloading arrow disappears
6. The Downloading bar now has the message 'Download Unsuccessful' beneath it

The odd thing is now if I go back to the Android Market main page, then back to the Downloads page it shows Dropbox as Downloading, i.e. the Download bar appears with 'Downloading...' beneath it, when it clearly isn't. I now select it and choose cancel download. Maybe this is normal behaviour and the Market is actually in a waiting state to retry the download later.

I also tried clearing the Download Manager cache, but this made no difference either.

Has anyone actually managed to install the Dropbox update?

i had the same 'Download Unsuccessful' problem on my FroYo Desire, but then i remembered something i once read on a web page: go to settings -> applications -> manage applications. find Market and Force Close, then Clear Cache and then find Download Manager and do the same thing. or just reboot your phone. I could then download the update with no problem.

the real issue, however, is that this new Dropbox app can't connect to the server; i'm only able to see my root folder. if i go to another folder it says there's a server error. just to make things clear i double-checked and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection or Dropbox account (i can use it with no problem from my PC or iTouch).

i uninstalled the app and went back to 0.9.8.6, for which i had backup made with Astro and it's working fine now. can anybody say they're using the new version without problems?

thanks
