I have an Unlocked telus Desire on the Sasktel network I was wondering as the phone is currently running 2.1 when will the 2.2 update come?

Will I have to wait for telus and if so will I get the update or not because I am now registered on Sasktel?

You have to wait for telus if it is branded, yes. It wont matter that you are on another network I don't think.

Best bet would probably be to unbrand it by flashing a generic RUU

Agreed, that's what I did and it works great! It opened the 2G/EDGE data which was blocked with the Telus firmware, and now updates come faster directly from HTC instead of waiting months for carrier updates. And of course Froyo is great - faster and better all around.
