4G - new tower antennas?

Depending on the ones that they already have installed on each site, because what makes them install new antennas is the frequency band they support. BUT they will require to install new BTS (base transceiver station) equipment to make available the transmission and processing of the 4G/WiMAX and the availability of the new bandwidth.

Does anyone know if the 4g coverage in the long term will include most of the current 3g towers? It seems to be starting out about the same as the switch to 3g a few years ago. First the larger cities, then medium or small cities then interconnecting interstates highways. Will we be able to travel the interstate highways and have 4g coverage in a few years, or is it going to only be in certain areas?

I imagine it will eventually cover most major highways as well. But at the same time, 3G coverage is fast enough etc for most people traveling. Obviously behind the wheel making voice calls, 3G is fine. Only passengers will be using the 4G service, and have to obviously be 4G subscribers. That means the people actually using 4G on the road - is a small demographic - so it will be quite some time before thats rolled out too much.
