So I took a look at ADW Launcher and it works pretty well on the Fascinate and is actually a pretty nice alternative to TW and LP. But I have two questions to pose to the group. What are your opinions on ADW and anybody know if it is possible to port or copy the Samsung Widgets to a location where any launcher can see them?

Google search widget works like a charm in the third party launchers but I still want the nicer widgets that Samsung has developed...

ADW is fine, Im a LP guy myself but to each his own. Its true you lose the Samsung widgets if you use a 3rd party homescreen app. You must be rooted to access the file system. Finally there are some very nice widget apps out there chief among them is Beautiful widgets

Yes, it works fine, but they should call it "Beautiful Widget." 100's of different options for size and backgrounds are wonderful, but it's still just one weather/clock widget that opens up your stock alarm clock, and their own weather program.

When I put Launcher Pro on my Droid X, I still had access to some of the motorola widgets ... there's gotta be a way to figure this out for the Fascinate, unless Samsung has their own proprietary format or file extension for their widgets that only TouchWiz will read.

My thoughts exactly! I know the stock Android widgets play nice with the 3rd Party Launchers. Like you said it's either they operate on their own proprietary extensions, or TW has an extra "folder/location" that it looks to for its available Widgets. Would be great to find out which is the case.

Like I said I am liking me some Samsung widgets. Wouldn't be so bad if I could find some free alternatives out there, that were somewhat higher quality. But I know I can't expect a lot from the free side, hence why I want Samsungs!
