Help Multiple Exchange Accounts for HTC Sense

Is there any plan to increase the number of Exchange type accounts on HTC Android devices. Maybe in the new Sense Updates?
Why did HTC not implement the code included in the stock Androind mail app (since at least 2.1), or at lease leave it alone!!
Since Hotmail has improved it's service to offer an Exchange style conneciton option there is a real day to day need to have at least two Exchange accounts on one device.
I have been using the stock 2.2 android email client for some time and although it feeds into the unified calender app it does not feed into the Sense contacts ribon etc., i also goes high CPU at times (file conflict?) so is not a suitable workaround.
And no I do not wish to use a third party app such as countdown, I like that with HTC's Sense system all things feed into a common thread - third party apps I have found have their own databases for email & calender etc. wich I do not want.

Thanks
D

I agree on you del0rian. I'm moving from an iphone to an android (htc desire) and multiple exchange accounts are a must have these days.
I'm surprised (and sad) I can't find a decent way to run multiple exchange accts. On the iphone you could easily do that with a patch (IOS 3.x) and its enabled by default on IOS 4.x

I also found some alternative solutions, like touchdown, but they are not as good as having the email integrated in htc sense and also they are not complete solutions anyway. In touchdown you can have multiple accts but you have to use profiles and you can keep only 1 acct active at a time. Thats pretty useless.

Android stock email app (not htc's one) does multiple exchange well, but then its not integrated with sense as you mentioned and i have to say i don't love that black background. On top of that I think htc mail widget is not only beautiful but it presents a very practical way to quick look at new emails you have just been notified about. I hate to lose it when I switch to the stock email app.

Is HTC going to do anything about this? Is there a way to patch the mail client like we do on the iphone?

Cheers mate.

It's good to hear it's not just me who's scratching their head over this. There seems to be such a lack of discussion about it i thought at one point it's just me doing something wrong.

I agree with the black background of the stock Android mail.apk being a little iffy - I tried to use both mail clients to get the best of both worlds, mail for the HTC app and calender&contacts for the stock Androind one (bad idea it turns out).

Surely someone must be looking into this, I did the due diligence before I bought an Android device and checked the capabilities of both Eclair and Frodo and confirmed they would pretty much suit my needs. only to find HTC has (I have no other word), BROKEN a significant element to the Android system.

Beats me and I'm feeling let down, but more so I'm confused and curious about the apparent lack of community feedback about this.

I have just tested a Desire rom based on the new Sense taken from the Desire HD and I can confirm that you can have multiple Exchange accounts with the HTC mail app.

Ben

Great to hear that it's coming in the pipeline. I've been using the stock Android app on my EVO for this reason, but prefer HTC's.

I contacted HTC awhile back to suggest this and they said they would consider it for future updates.
