Help Two "Messaging" Issues. Anyone Else?

The first one is, after you have had a text conversation with someone, or just send or receive one text to them, whenever you leave the messaging application, and then go back into it, it takes you back into the last conversation you were having. After pressing "back" it takes you back to your homescreen, and then after going to "messaging" once again you are put to the normal messaging screen where you can pick a person or select compose new message. Is there any way to have it take me to the screen where you pick a contact or to just compose a new message every time i go to the messaging app?

Secondly, why do i always get texts that say they are from one person when they end up really being from another. It confuses me because I will get a message that says it is from my mom or dad, and it doesn't make any sense because it is something that either my wife or friend would say. And then what do you know, that is because it actually isn't from my mom or dad, it just says it is until you back out and then go back into it. Really annoying and it is a problem that is just asking you to accidentally send a message to someone that wasn't meant for them.

Both occur to me as well, though the first doesn't really bother me. But im glad to hear the second problem isn't just me. Maybe it will get fixed with froyo, but probably only if we tell them?

The second issue better get fixed, there is no excuse for it.

The first one however didn't really bother me either, but it is now starting to get annoying. I text all day on my phone both personal and work related, i rarely actually "talk" on the phone, so you can see how it would start to get irritating.

Yeah its an all in one and a pretty good one at that. I switched from the SF default messaging app to Handcent and I've been pleased. Custom notifications, missed messages count, it can wake your phone from sleep for a message if you want it too and the UI is customizable.

I apologize if this is hijacking your thread but in my experience Handcent does NOT handle video at all. I've been very disappointed because at least once a day I get a notification from Handcent, open the app, and realize there is a video attached so I have to go back into the stock messaging app to view it.

If any of you have a solution or have found out how to get handcent to work with video, I'm all ears!

funny that this got bumped up... I had forgotten about my post about hoping "pt" (aka: peeping tom)..didn't live near me.. LOL.... I, of course, only meant in the sense that he might be "peeping tom" on me...lol....

by the way, oPEEPINGTOMo... how are you doing with your screen? sorry if I've missed anything.... it is getting absolutely BRUTAL to follow threads sometimes now... don't get me wrong.. I'm not whining.. I'm really glad everyone's here... it's like a little ((growing)) family..
