The Desire HD <---> The Sprint EVO 2?

The new HTC Desire HD...

I want to know what you all think? I called it to become the new EVO 2. Around Nov/Dec, this would be Sprint chance to really gain around the holidays. They have a hit.
The current EVO is more out of stock than in stock. I say they just scrap the current EVO and release the new EVO 2....its coming!

I'm new to the forum world.
However I've been reading these so called thoughts on putting out an evo 2 this year. Well that's just stupid.
I love my evo, and like every device there is potential. I think that there needs to be more time. For several reasons.
We need to see where MAC is goin with their software and gaming tactics.
We need to make sure we don't have an I phone 3 / 3gs crisis.
We have an edge already with 4g and multimedia capabilities.
Bigger screen. Enough said.
I do believe that the evo 2 will be awesome, but in time. I had to use my upgrade credit to get my evo. Still paying 250 out of pocket. That's a lot considering I work McDonald's, and have bills to pay.
HTC slammed on MAC with one device. MAC has 4 models now. Pshhh, its whatever. I'm sayin don't get greedy just because they have better resolution now. It will come.

Also some things to consider

Desire HD
- SLCD
- More Ram!
- More Rom aka Phone storage!
- Refined design
- Comes with the new HTC Sense, however the EVO will get this through devs or officially
- N wifi, though a moot point for the rooted
- DNLA
- (Edit) Newer snapdragon processor.
Evo
- 4G!!! huge for those who can use it
- HDMI, not too big since its not too oftenly used
- FFC, now thats a biggie, not sure why the Desire HD doesn't have one (AFAIK)
- Headphone Jack on the top! Thats big for me results may vary.
- Bigger Battery
- Already Available

When you stack them out, depending on what you want they are equal. 380mb of available phone storage is plenty for me, but they both have positives that make them unique :D

Desire HD _probably_ doesn't have an SLCD by the look of it.

Generally speaking though the Desire HD has very little over the Evo. It's all minor performance bumps / features. If they based a new Evo on this there would be no improvements they could market to the average consumer hence no point.

Agreed!

Ummm.. is everyone forgetting the much more powerful GPU in the DHD. Imo the stumbling block of the EVO is the poor 3d graphics performance. DHD fixes that.

Yeah, but everyone appears to forget that technology doesn't stand still as well so of course you will have some updated features. But unless your a hardcore mobile phone gamer (which sounds really daft) you ain't really gonna notice it.

People have to remember that this is a Smartphone after all. It's not a handheld games device. Games on it is there just for the novelty. The primary functions of a smart phone remain the same which is email, calls, texting, office editing.
