I went to the Verizon Store at the local mall to see if anyone is good at applying screen protectors there because I am not good at it.

This woman approaches me (She works there) tells me she can do it no problem, I said are you sure? I am very picky I want little to no dust on my screen and no bubbles..

She tells me not to worry and takes my phone to the backroom and comes out 5 minutes later. Sure enough my phone has 3 bubbles, a hair under the screen and a small blob of lotion on the screen.

I told her what is that mark? She tells me oh don't worry it's just my lotion you can wipe it off, I try and wipe it off no avail it was under the screen protector. I just gave her the finger and told her to go **** herself and left the store.

It would have been nice to have the screen protector on since it came with my awesome otterbox case but oh well..I keep my screen in good shape regardless.

It was certainly sloppy work, but it's not irreversible, and it sounds like there was no charge (planned or otherwise), and no payment offered. So... remove it, clean it, and try it yourself. What's the problem?

What's the problem? The problem is I am terrible at applying screen protectors and she did a half ass job as if she were trying to rush while doing it.

All kidding aside, applying a screen protector is not necessarily a one-shot deal. They CAN be removed and reapplied. Give it a shot and see what happens. If you're not satisfied, try it again. If you're still not happy with your work, try a local reseller (not a corporate store) and see if you can give them a few bucks to put it on.

I hate this task and luck is the only solution.

What I do is clean both the display and outer films of the protector then only remove part of the 1st backing (fold it back a little) then slowly place and align the protector removing a little at a time. If I see some lint I use a very dull knife to flick it off before pressing down.

The key is to get the middle as clean and bubble free as possible and then the knife trick can be used on the edges by using a piece of tape to lift it just far enough to clean it out.

The best and only way any of these screen protectors on is to pull the battery clean the screen with screen cleaner wash your hands put dish liquid in a bowl big enough to hold the protector dip your fingers in the dish liquid pull off the protector dip it in the dish liquid try to clean off all foreign products and hair reclean the screen pull the protector from the liquid let most liquid drip off place the screen proterctor on the screen itself square it to the screen and with a credit card squeeze all remaining liquid from the top to bottom holding the top so the protector doesnt slide from its position if it should slide you have some time to reposition if it comes out all jacked up remove the protector and try again once it is in position wipe the phone dry and let the screen and phone dry till your satisfied the protectors recomend 24hours

In all seriousness, you may also have more luck installing it in the bathroom shortly after someone has taken a shower. The steam draws the dust out of the air, so you're less likely to have a speck land on the protector or screen during the install. The guy who suggested scotch tape to remove dust is also on to something.

Also, what brand of protector are you using? The ones sold by VZW are crap. I tried three of them and never got them to work correctly, but I got my first Steinheil protector on perfectly on the first try.

You should go back and DEMAND your installation fee back!

ROFL. +1

Well, perhaps you can look at it this way.. people who do slipshod work and people who tell others to go (expletive) their self while giving the finger are destined to cross paths eventually.

You've both fulfilled your destiny.

Now go home and burn your clothes. ;)

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Ive installed many zag shields, and if done correctly they come our perfect. Take it to someone who does a lot of them (like the zag kioks in malls sometimes near a phone store) or Best buy also installs these things frequently. As with any service; it comes down to th eperson you hand your phone to. Ask if they are expereinced and if they will re-do it if you are not happy.

A hair or lotion is not excusable. But with zag shields it does take 24 hours for all the streaks and "micro bubbles" to go away. But after 24 hours it should look invisible.

sooooo you didn't ask if she would apply another one? and you didn't even pay for it? you just flipped her off and screamed obscenities at her? Excuse me if i skip out on your pity party.
I am so happy I dont work in customer service anymore. Ya it seems she was a bit misleading on her ability to apply protectors.. But cursing at someone and walking out.. Ya you deserve what you got.

Best buy will install your screen protector for a fee of course. The invisishield will have some strange looking bits to it for awhile, but then they go away. I put mine on myself. personally I liked my anti-glare shield that I found for my ipod touch at the apple site. in order to get the fuzzies off, you just had to take some sticky tape, and stick it on the sticky side of the screen protector, the pull it off (kinda like getting fuzzies off your clothes) and it pulled off the yucky fuzzies and such.
