What grinds my gears is greed. I'm SICK of government officials and Wall Street assholes running the world into the ground. I'm sick of going to home depot, looking for a GOOD mop (for example) and not being able to find ANYTHING but a cheap Chinese piece of crap made out of plastic with a flimsy pine tree branch for a handle. There's so much cheap shit on the market that you can't find (and pay for) a decent, quality item even if you WANT to.

Well, let us be fair. Blame the consumers for putting up with the inferior crap. At least in part. If we stopped buying, things would perhaps change. We wont so we get what we get.

You can still buy quality and when you make side by side comparisons of products from the Good Old Days with their modern equivelant, you will be sad.

I can speak about Vintage Bikes, Banjos, Fountain Pens, and other things and how the old compares to the new. If you want quality, either buy and restore the old, or pay for the new stuff made by quality manufacturers.

Everything has a quality counterpart. Quality is costly, and we wont generally purchase it.

I remember inexpensife steel and chrome car parts. Replaced by cheap plastic. Steel is better, but plastic is cheaper to make. That is an opinion only; i still love cast iron engines and lead body work.

I recently looked at a imported banjo. A true piece of 350.00 crap. Then I looked at a new Deering, a work of art. Deering can sell you a $60,000.00 instrument and i guarantee the quality is high.

Finally, companies need to be competitive so they have to cheapen up their products or costs will kill them in the marketplace.

The teachers I had for JAVA and C++ were useless. The JAVA and C++3 teacher wouldn't provide any help when asked. I would go to him with questions about JAVA assignments and he would ask what I thought should be done? Well, I already tried what I THOUGHT, jackass, that's why I'm here.

My C++2 teacher was a Chinese woman who literally used another professor's syllabus/lesson plan. She even had the audacity to leave that teacher's name on all of the presentation materials. Talk about lazy.

I ended up failing JAVA because I couldn't get the projects done on time (I was taking C++3, senior project class where I did all of the development, and ASP.NET class). Thankfully the department head let me take a DB class at another school to count as a credit.

It's rather nice that Visual Studio does a lot of the menial tasks for me. I shouldn't have to hand-code control signatures or ASP.NET control markup.

How a teacher expects their students to do work when they can't FORGE their own lesson plans. Talk about reverse plagiarism... SHEESH!

By the way... It was kind of on the cool side today and I'm not looking forward to winter. Although, I cursed the heat during the depths of summer. The grass is always greener... right?

You know what bugs me? When I ask a question, and I state that a did a search on it, and someone basically calls me stupid, because they did a search too and found answers! I hate people that rub thier "brilliance" in your face. "Oh look at me! You must have read my conversation with another member that did not understand my problem, lol Im afraid I went overboard with my response, but geez I just dont like it when someone makes me feel like I'm stupid because I ask a question... I was told growing up, there are no stupid questions, and I guess because I am a mom, I get used to answering all kinds of questions from my 5 kids with much more patience than you can imagine... try explaining to your 9 year old what a mouth orgasm or a condom is because she heard her older brother talk about them. *eyes roll*

So I suppose I hope for everyone to answer questions with the same patience I give my kids, lol

Another pet peeve.... I hate when people dont put the grocery carts they used back! They are attracted to my truck, and that just burns my bottom!

Back on topic, I don't understand why, if someone knows where a helpful thread, they'll post to tell someone to look for it, but they can't be bothered to take the time to post a link to it. The search here leaves a lot to be desired, IMO. I've searched for a thread that I know the exact name of, and still had trouble finding it. For instance, on the 3rd page of results, bellow a slew of threads that have nothing to do with my search.

On the other hand, I've also seen many examples of someone posting something that is already being discussed just a few threads bellow and is clearly addressed in the thread title. I have a lot less empathy for such laziness.

I have a new rant, argh and this one really ticks me off something fierce! When my boys are playing Modern Warfare 2, and whenever my boys kills someone, the stupid F-***** respond by questioning my kids sexuality, by calling them gay, F*ggots, and they tell them they are going to kick thier *sses, or whatever... then my 4 year old walks by, hears this crap, and starts calling everything gay which really ticks me off, because Im trying to teach my kids tolerance, and years of hard work goes down the drain with these dumb pecker faces' comments. So I have to get on the mic, and cuss them out, and come up with some very clever new swear words and put these arse ***** in thier place. I cant stand that game! its the same thing over and over again, people cussing, people dying doodoodoodoodoodoo pow pow pow pewpewpew, *insert heavy breathing here*, frag frag frag, nuke, nuke, nuke, oh look I got the crap shot out of me, and Im going to yell and complain because I think Im so awesome no one should shoot me, oh and all of a sudden I am healed and respawned!!! wow this must be like real life! Cool! Oh how super, I can play a game that takes no brains at all, and its the same thing over and over and over, cool repetition makes life so exciting, how full of awesomness am I?!!! whats grinding my gears right now is that tide commercial where the mom lies about wearing the daughter's shirt then at that she wasn't responsible enough to put her daughter's shirt back but left it at the bottom of her dirty clothes hamper with a huge stain on it.
