Help Recent Update to Fix Airplane Mode

I woke this morning to a prompt on my phone saying there was an update available to fix the airplane mode issues as well as other issues with the Samsung Moment. Figuring it to be a good idea I went ahead and downloaded it. It wasn't until some hours later when I started using the phone sideways with the keyboard not out that I noticed the screen kept timing out. It continued to do it each time I used it this way. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue or is my phone just special?

When will these bugs be fixed? I am starting to lose patients with the phone.

I posted this on the previous thread about this DI06 update -
As a new user, I'm not sure how to link directly to the thread, so here is the C&P of my entire post:

I downloaded the update yesterday (Sat. 9/25/10) while walking to work. Took about 5 minutes.

Everything seemed to be just fine until the end of the day and I was unable to get the phone to pair with my car's built in hands free bluetooth. In the past, the connection has worked nearly flawlessly, I would occaisionally have to re-pair the phone & car if I had rebooted the phone, but that usually took about 1 minute or less.

As of last night, the phone no longer sees the car's bluetooth device, even after multiple scans, so I have no way of paring them.

Anyone else have this issue? (or similar?)

My problem isn't in the re-pairing, I've had to do that off and on in the past when I've had to reboot my phone for various reasons.

When I go to the bluetooth settings screen and scan for bluetooth devices, it no longer recognizes my car at all, so I can't even begin to pair it. It recognizes other bluetooth devices, and my wife's phone recognizes and pairs with the car, so I know that's not the issue.

I have experienced airplane mode bug exactly once, and so I don't want the update. How can I tell my phone to stop asking me to install it?

Had the phone since Nov 1, stuck with it through all the BS only to hear it was having support discontinued when it was 6 months old, so I rooted the phone and downloaded custom ROMs... I finally got everything in harmony on this thing and NOW Samsung wants to fix a bug that's been around since release? <dies a little inside>

Does this mess up the phone if I have Radioactive Froyo?

Ever since I installed the update to fix the airplane mode, my wifi has quit working. It will come on for a few seconds and then disconnect. Before installing this update from Sprint, the wifi worked perfect.... any ideas.
Is there anyway to uninstall the update? I don't really need it as I don't fly but maybe once a year.

Also, the data connection keeps dropping now.

I did the update this morning as well and no issues. I'm running Radioactive Froyo 1.8.7 as well though.

I am interested in this rooting I keep reading about. I would like more info about it and how to do it. What all is needed etc. I am new to the smartphone world but am proficient with computers. Just don't know much about smartphone terms and technology.

Since it appears the moment is going to be left behind by Sprint, I was wanting to find a way to improve it. Is there anyway to actually update it to Froyo, is that what this Radioactive does?

Any advice would be helpful.

No, you can apply this update if you're rooted. I'm running Radioactive Froyo 1.8.22, and I applied the update with no issues.

UPDATE: Well I just triggered a data lockup. nix the fix, doesn't work.
Within minutes of me updating it manually last week, it went to into airplane mode, the monkey on the phone didn't really seem to care when I told him I had that issue within minutes of applying this update.

Another issue that is really irking me lately is text messages seem to fail to send, even with 1 bar. And it's 2 phones and not just mine. It even happens when I am at home with 5 BARS!

I am so sick of this phone and Sprint. I just want other phone but I doubt they will do jack shit.

Also, my battery the last week or 2, is now at 15 percent in less then 2 ****ing hours.

I want to SMASH this phone and tell Sprint to take a giant leap off a short plank.

I pay 140 a month and this is the kind of shit I have to deal with.

I started having problems with the txt message also. Sometimes they send and sometimes not... the airplane mode comes and goes by itself... therefore shutting down all wireless connections... I've only had this phone like 2 months and am disappointed in it and Sprint. Have heard Sprint has abandoned the Moment and will no longer major upgrade, that is why I am trying to find out more about rooting.... any help?????

You should double check your car setting to make sure it's "discoverable"
