Question re: installing non market apps+

Good Morning;
I installed the old version of astrid via their web site as the new version's alarms and reminders will not work on my Droid Incredible (Froyo).

Two questions: Do I need to install a file manager such as astro to use apps installed off market? Astrid seems to be working fine without such a file manager installed.

And finally, once installed astrid download is listed under my internet downloads. Is there any way to move this file or will it just remain under downloads on Internet? If I clear Internet downloads, then astrid will be gone?

Thanks in advance :)

You don't need to use a file manager to use apps installed from somewhere other than the Market. Even so, it's good to have a file manager for general use.

The two most popular file managers are ASTRO File Manager (paid and free versions) and EStrongs File Explorer (free).

A good thing to do would be to make a copy of the Astrid download and save it to your SD card. You could use one of the aforementioned file managers to do this.That way you'll have a backup in case you need to reinstall. I do believe your downloads will disappear clear Internet downloads.
