Root Backing up my Incredible before root.

Hey, I'm sure my question is on here someplace and I was hoping someone would direct me to the best help. I have an HTC Incredible that is running 2.2 that I installed myself from a link on one of these threads. I would like to root the Phone and try some different mods to increase battery life for one, and boot time for another. I also want to get rid of some of the programs that the sense ui wont let me turn off (stocks, amazon mp3, and about 15 other bloatware.) My concern is that I first want to save my phone settings so that if I screw something up or if I don't like it, I can revert back to those settings. What is the best way to not brick my phone?

well i would just advise you to follow unrevoked method. if you do everything they say nothing will happen to your phone. they have a program that does it all for you. all you need is unrevoked, plug in your phone with usb debugging, then you have root. it wont mess up any of your settings.

That's right, by just rooting you will not lose anything from your phone. When it comes back on, you won't actually be able to see anything has changed until you start installing root applications, removing stuff, installing custom ROMs, etc.

Trying to learn all this as well.

If you use unrevoked, and get through the steps successfully, can you return phone for warranty and or insurance claim? Can the phone ever be "unrooted"?

I am really wanting to use this new sense, but I am a total wuss. Me=afraid and typically I am not like that. Just makes me nervous as there is so much stuff to learn and I do not have the time to learn it all....

One word of advice on the new sense desire ROM ported to the Inc...if your using your phone everyday and depend on it to supply you with reliable service in calls, texts, internet, alerts etc...you might want to 1st try one of the more veteran ROM's like virtuous or skyraider. If you like to tinker and can mess around with your device then you'll be fine with the new sense.

Well I am done. Was a little nervous when I got to the radio part, I still did it, although it seems I was on the most recent radio? 2.15.00.07.28

Now I have a question (yes I tried searching a little, I promise).

I completed a backup as part of the directions. I have copied it to my PC as well.

If I decide to install the "new sense" and I do not like it, how do I get back to that "backup" I did with the Rom Manager?

Also there are NO DIRECTIONS for the SENSE install. I presume I can search on how to install "all ROM's" and follow that?

I am really confused how to swap back and forth from ROM's. I searched but it seems every page over at XDA is 50+ pages.

Can you give me anohter "push"
