Root Goodbye FroydVillain, hello Elilinux...

hehe you has it?

I think that's the one ya, runs pretty good... only time will tell about the battery but the keyboard situation is better and I like the look of it, bit more unusual.

It also seems to have a lot less useless apps built in that I don't really use.

Changelog 2010-09-26

LauncherPro as default launcher
Latest Gapps
Latest CyanogenMod (2010-09-25)
Jit enabled by default
Vm heapsize 32m by default
Removed maps brut
Included maps
+ Everything else from my other rom

IOW it's an updated v1.9 with a few new performance tweaks, plus the kernel scheduler mods previously only available as init.rc edits.

Ta :D I removed the brut thing anyway with Titanium.

I currently have froydvillain 1.5, and have tried every combo of kernel/radio, tweaked settings. The battery life on 1.5 is atrocious. This ROM is a vampire.

Do you find that elelinux 2.2 is better than 1.5 (significantly)?

also, is everything included in the ROM? I have read a few posts talking about having to install a whole bunch of other things?

Ie. can I just flash the elelinux 2.2 ROM, or do I need to get a new radio, kernel, etc etc.?

Yep, very significantly.

Again - the Froyd guys are still immense and will no doubt sort out the bugs in the next release but, until then, I think Elelinux is fantastic and I'm sold on it for sure. :) I need to reflash mine with the special edition one at some point.

Hehe I am currently on Floyo :p . Its android v 2.2.1 (ele 2.0 is too I forgot :/) :p And seems ok :D . Used even the blackmod theme for Elelinux 2.0 :D witht eh new flykernel11 will test more.

I like the froyd too. But ninpo is taking his time :) . And I kinda like flashing. Not sure how much time those guys can do for a Hero. But ele and floyo devs are rolling :D

Elelinux and Floyo have the same team of devs? (elelinux and erasmusx?) I know that erasmus give us the kernels, but they work 2gether? Elelinux's rom is based on erasmusx kernels so there should be a linkup

What do you think of Floyo compared to Ele 2.0?

Well Floyo has no real themes and not sure he will have :) Not a problem though. What I dont like is trackball flash as notifications.

The rom itself is clean :) cleaner as ele. (as ele compared to froyd I would say) The latest nightly are nice. Has some nice features. Like the swipe away notifications one by one.

Speed, well its like the flykernel was made for this rom :) . Its smoother as on ele. Maybe even cuz its the 2.2.1 android.

Dev. He is nice. Answers all :) (well almost :p my bugging him about the trackball flash didnt work) he is better in english I guess thats a plus to ele :D and he releases his sources.

I would stay on floyo if there wasnt the trackball flash ...

The theme is a deal breaker for me. Plus, you can always remove any bloat from a ROM with TB.

I would like the new 2.2.1 (I mean, it's a bigger number, so it must be better!), but I imagine Elelinux will be releasing a version with that ASAP, so I won't bother with Floyo.

lol thanks, and strangely a reboot helped. and I was able to nandroid back to floyo. :p

yeah I would say also stick with what you got now :) . Will just test a gmail notifier if it doesnt help with the trackball and am back to ele :D .

EDIT: Gmail notifier now there is the green led and trackball flashing :D
EDIT2: And when I shutdown the notifications in gmail :p and just let the notifier do its job then its all ok :p
