Just thought I would share with everyone here on the SF forums...my hope is to get our forum to the level that the Droid Incredible forum was - everybody shared everything (that is free, of course) ;). Since there are a lot of noobs/Android virgins in the SF forum, I figured I would provide detailed instructions.

Everything works great on the Fascinate. I have included Droid X Ringtones, Notification Sounds (including Drooooooooid), Standard & Live Wallpapers and custom Droid ICONZ for LauncherPro. I do not take credit for creating any of these items, just for ensuring compatibility, collecting and pushing out to the community. :D

Samsung Fascinate Goodie Basket

To add these to your phone, do the following:
Create a folder on your PC
Extract the .zip to this folder
Plug into USB
Pull down shade from top
Mount to USB - SD Card
Open SD Card's folder

For notifications:
Click on media folder ---> Click on audio folder ---> click on notifications ---> drag files from the notifications folder on desktop to notifications folder on SD

For ringtones:
Click on media folder ---> Click on audio folder ---> click on ringtones* ---> drag files from the ringtones folder on desktop to ringtones folder on SD
*if you do not see a ringtones folder on your phone, simply drag the entire ringtones folder to the audio folder on your phone

For wallpapers:
Click on media folder ---> click on wallpapers* ---> drag files from the wallpapers folder on desktop to wallpapers folder on SD
*if you do not see a wallpapers folder on your phone, simply drag the entire wallpapers folder to the media folder on your phone

For live wallpapers: These need to be loaded as an .apk file. Go to applications, check on Allow install from Unknown Locations. My suggestion is opening up a free Dropbox account and placing the .apk's in a folder. Access them via the free Dropbox Android application. When you click on the application, it will ask to install once it downloads. You can also install through Astro File Explorer, From SD Card Directly, etc...

For custom ICONZ for LauncherPro: Please follow directions at LauncherPro website.

Have fun!

Does this work if you have a Mac and not a PC? I appreciate the elegance and longevity of Apple computers but I have yet to give in to the iPhone hype and I suffered with bad AT&T service for years with a regular phone so I had my doubts that a smartphone on the same network would improve on things.

Thanks.

If you are able to connect to MAC, then I see no prohibitive reason why not...I don't know for sure, I have a PC.

Oh, and youre right about the AT&T thing - the service blows regardless...especially here in NJ. :D

sorry for being ignorant..but when i connect my phone to the computer and I double click on the external storage icon i get the following message " Please insert a disk into a Removable disk", i thought that the contents of the sd card can be browsable. Is there something I am missing.

This is how I access my Micro SD card:

Plug in phone into computer via USB
On the phone screen, drag down (from the top) the notifications bar.
Click the USB connected notification
Click Mount

And now, the phone should function like a flash drive...

You have to "Mount" the SD card. Pull down the shade from above, click usb storage, click Mount SD...should be good. Make sure you unmount when you are done so it saves to the SD card
