Root How to Remove Root from 2.1? (Currently in 2.2)

Hey all,

So my phone was rooted using 1 click method during 2.1.

However, my phone is now in 2.2. I did a hard/factory reset. Apparently that didn't remove Superuser permission. Residual root files are still there. I made sure to untick the option to back up my settings. So... I'm guessing I have to manually get it out.

Any ideas how I can do it now? I'm looking to root 2.2 but I think it's best if I start fresh.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Really no reason to start fresh as you will overwrite whats there when rerooting.

Easier 1-2-3 Droid 2 Root for Windows / Linux / Mac - xda-developers

That method is about as easy as it gets

edit: also you have to be rooted in order to remove those files from your phone because they are in /system.
