Root Wireless tether ?

AC means Access Control. Hit Menu, then go to Access Control. From there, hit the enable button for Access Control, allow the SU request.

What this does is give your phone control over who has access to the inets using your phone. When a device accesses that tether, you can enable or disable access.

Thank you very much.

Another thing thats helpful, you can set it up without AC to start. Then, allow your laptop to connect to the AndroidTether SSID. Then, you will see a notification that a device has connected to your wireless tether. you can then click the "enable" icon and then click the checkmark on your mac address/hostname for whatever device is attached.

This is a quick and dirty way to set up controls and then if someone else ever tries to attach to your device, you will see a notification that someone is attempting connect to your device.

Start wireless tether
Hit the menu button, select Access Control, click the Enable button
Go into your laptop and into the wireless settings and find the AndroidTether Access point.
On the laptop click to connect to it.
On your phone, in the notifications area, a red shield will pop up.
Swipe down the notifications and it will say; "Wireless Tether - Unauthorized.
Select it, and you will then see a list of Connected/Authorized Clients
You should seen your laptop/device listed there with an an unchecked box, all you do is check that box.
You should then see a green checkmark beside your device/MAC address.

This means that your laptop/device is now authorized to use the wireless tether. It also means that no one else can use it unless they try to attach and you go into that notification and check off their device too.

Hope that helps, feel free to PM me if you need any additional info.

THANK YOU- That is great that I can restrict who can use it!! I work in a school and don't want all of the kids with laptops connecting to my network when I need to have it set up.

You can really customize it too if you know about wifi setup. You can change the ssid, make it discoverable or not as well as setup wpa encryption and have a specific passphrase. You can also change the notification tone that you get if someone is trying to connect. Beware though, It consumes a good bit of battery so either have a spare of be able to charge it.
