Imap ?

I noticed that there are two Email icons... One is a GMAIL icon and the other is a "Mail" icon... I set them both up because I like how the generic icon displays the number...
If I view my inbox in the Gmail icon there is an "IMAP" in blue next to my drafts, sent and trash but not my inbox?
Is this an issue?

What do most use? It seems as if the generic email is updated every 5 minutes and Gmail is up instantly but with an icon in the upper left corner.

If I remember correctly this happened to me so I set it up a a POP account and alls well. Think though IMAP is pushed rather then pulled thats why its quick, not sure. Am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong.
